Booked for 3 weeks to go on dec 30th. Due to a family wedding in Cyprus next june i e mailed thomas cook to see if I could change it to 2 weeks due to lack of holidays at work left. They quoted me £326 per person to reduce the holiday by a week. Needless to say I am still going for 3 weeks

That doesn't sound right at all. When we had to change the date of our last holiday they just charged us admin fees to change the date. I'd assume they should have just charged you both one admin fee each of £30 because it was only one change being made.
I thought it would only be an admin fee but this is the e mail I received.

Is it possible they got confused and thought you wanted to add a week?

Yes, the flights are a lot more expensive coming back as it will be just after the new year rather than a week later.
