Can't find out anything really about ulookyoubook. Few threads on this forum, but nothing that gives me the incentive to use them. Tried to google as well, couldn't find much. Too me that says steer clear. I am putting everything I have into a cheap break, so don't want to lose it!
On the other hand Travel republic sounds good.
Just remember to cost up all the added extras eg, supplements, travel costs from and to the airport, food etc
Derwent is right lots of companies forget to tell you about the extras!!!
i have booked with ulookubook they are fine, as are all the others mentioned. They work the same as travel republic, they book the flight and then the hotel seperately, they are all abta bonded. personally i always use these companies you get exactly the same as you would from the high street travel agents for less price. Never been to sharm but my friend stayed at the mamara and she really enjoyed it
im a bit of an internet dyslexic - im trying to find a holiday in sharm and need advice on who to book with
also we want to go for a.i two weeks but this means we'll need a good hotel for food and fun because we wont have much money to go off the resort has anyone got any suggestions? needs to be reasonably close to naama bay and no more than £700 each (2people)
THANKS
The AI hotels that seem popular on this board are The Hilton Sharks Bay, The Conrad, The Coral Sea Resort & The Red Sea Holiday Village, they are all a bit out of Namma Bay though.
The HSB was on the http://www.thomson.co.uk & http://www.portlanddirect.co.uk websites and in their brochures. The other three were always offered by http://www.firstchoice.co.uk & http://www.eclipsedirect.co.uk (these last two websites are really slow since they have been redesigned )
I'm sure you could also find these hotels on internet companies as well like http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk who will book dynamic packages such as flights & hotel combined but you may have to organise your own transfers.
You could book DIY which is a seperate flight with http://www.xl.com and a hotel with the likes of http://www.hotelopia.co.uk or http://www.wshtravel.com and organise your own transfer, but if you are both internet dyslexic and a first timer to Sharm/Egypt this may be one step too far at this point.
Another good company for Egypt holidays is http://www.longwoodholidays.co.uk looking through their brochure gives you a good idea of what's available in Sharm and then tend to offer the better quality hotles. There are a few iffy hotels in Sharm so cheapest isn't necessarily a good option.
In general most AI hotels are out of Namma Bay, but have shuttle mini buses a couple of times a day to get you in and out if you fancy a change of scenery or you could risk a cab if you are brave.
The Sonesta Beach Hotel is in Namma Bay and has recently gone AI so may suit. This is offered by Portland/Thomson as above.
All five of the hotels I mention have their own threads on HT and if you use the search facility you should be able to pull up lots of info regarding will the hotels suit you.
Some are more family orientated than others, some have sandy beaches that you can enter the sea from, some have terraced beaches cut in the rock with jetties into deep water, some better food & drink than others. You need to do a bit of reasearch to see what suits.

I ditto Doe, and she mentioned my baby so i don't have too
Remember the hotel reviews can change over a short period of time.I was at the HV in December and it was fabulous but it is now getting bad reviews. My friend sister has just come back from the Sonesta beach after her son recommended it and she was ill and hated it!
I am always ill Jay but its nowt to do with the hotel (on my part anyway) its down to too much sun and a quick fix at the quacks and i am back to normal, luckily one on site. I dont generally like eating hotel foods, so even though A1 i will still eat out.
