petefin,
Refer to my post to blondiescot and others above. It's not a requirement of the airline / operator, it's a government requirement. They may be taking your details at check-in, but most are taking it before you travel.

Booked an alternative last week with Thomas Cook who told us we had to fill in a form on line between 3 and 12 weeks before departure.
Thomson don't make it obvious when booking however it's detailed in the ticket booklet when you receive it about 3-4 weeks prior to your departure date.

Oh I'm very glad I found this post! I was wondering what to do about APIs for our trip to Turkey in May. It wasn't required when we went two years ago and Aegean haven't made it very clear what we need to do!
Aegean Flights will be offering online API from their website (my booking) or by giving them a call to collect the relevant information.

I filled out my API with aegeanflights last week, just go to view my booking.
there should be a different option to doing it online, when there website seems to never work....
ell us your trauma and maybe we can help .I have just done the API forms with TC and never had a problem .I think it depends on the time you are going on holiday and whether your flight is registered yet,if your flight is more than three months away then if may not work ,My daughter tried twice before the three months and could not get on ,but as soon as it was within the three months she had no problem .
Hello K&R, we have been trying to get on to the Thomas Cook website for over 2 months, with no joy. We have spoken to them & e mailed them, their site is not working. We last spoke yesterday, they "are still having problems with their website", quote. We are flying this Sunday, 4th April and have been told we can fill in the API details at check in for no cost.

I have been trying TC for two weeks and no joy. The local travel agent says they are having major issues with the online API.
Thanks Peter but it still wont work, looks like we'll have to sort it at check in........
we go on 4 june, which is in less than 3 months....
the holiday is all thomas cook, including flights,
every time i try i just get that my booking number is not recognised........
as it was booked in a shop, i shall go and ask for help a 2nd time,
thanks again .......
I have just been able to fill in all our info on-line this morning for our flights on the 1st july
Finally got our details on this morning, although we fly out on Sunday.
does anyone know travelrepublics procedure for API for going to Turkey??
As an agent, Travel Repubic aren't collecting API. You'll need to supply the details to the airline you are travelling with or it'll be collected at the airport.

We are flying with Saga Airlines, booked through Travel Patrol, I have asked Travel Patrol do we need to supply A.P.I, they said this airline have not requested it, I am slightly confused as I thought it was a must to give this information beforehand
I have also booked flights for Sept through Travalrepublic, the flights are with H4U so I just went straight to the website and viewed my booking,H4Us,and filled out API as they were requesting it.
Strange that the travel agent didn't mention it when they took my money and again when they handed me the tickets.
