Left Heathrow on Jan27th Virgin flight to Delhi,where we pre booked a package tour with Culture Tours
for 3 nights,we arranged a 4th night in Delhi through internet booking [more about that later].
Culture tours were first class,met at the airport in a super car taken to our 4star hotel City Park[ excellent.]
Short walk around the area before our evening meal,early night as 5 am start next morning.
Cuture tours collected and proceeded to Delhi Railway station.although its just 5:30am it was like a mad
rush hr, thousands of people milling around from all directions,thankfully Culture tours guided us to our pre
booked seats on the train.
Good seats ,breakfast served during the 2hr journey to Agra,[indian dishes but o.k]
Our car and guide were there to greet us and off to the Taj Mahal.where we spent approx 2hrs our guide very
informative,guide very important as there was so much to know about the Taj Mahal, superb structure,, something
to behold , 1pm arrive at the Taj Mugal Hotel [5 star] for a buffet lunch this was excellent.1hr 30mins for lunch,then
off to the Red Fort again with lots of history,from here 1hrs drive [depending on traffic] to the forgotten city for a stay
of 1hr.back to Agra where we took the opertunity of visiting a Kashmir carpet works also a factory making marble tables
ect,both worth the time spent,returned to the Taj Mugal Hotel for drinks,railway station and back to Delhi,return journey
a nightmare took 4hrs stop start all the way.however tour guide waiting for us [thank goodness] Delhi station not quite
like Paddington.
Day 3 collected 11.am with own car and personall guide for City Tour,after the tour we advised our driver we were staying
in Delhi another night ,in the Hotel booked via internet gave him the hotel information,he laughed and commented you wont
want to stay there,in his opinion this was the worst area of Delhi.he advised we go to the hotel and ask for our money to be
returned he claimed the manager of this hotel would be used to this request,we were unable to do this as we had not booked
direct with the hotel,however we drove to the location ,did not get out of the car, returned to another part of the city to
arrange more suitable accomodation forfeiting the cost,s ,we had booked the same hotel for our return journey this was also
cancelled. would certainly reccomend Culture tours these are also used by Daytrippers!!!!!
Day 4 flight with Kingfisher via Mumbai to Goa more to follow on our 3 weeks in Goa.......
