Thanks , I have had a look but can't see anything in Alicante itself. It is specifically Alicante that we want to stay in. We may just turn up on the day and try and get somewhere but I would rather book in advance as part of the fun of going away for me is looking into where we are going and finding out what is nearby.

I you haven't found anything to suit you from the suggestions posted already try a "google" or other search engine search and you should get loads of information to choose from.

Thanks everyone for all of your advice, I always get a good response from this forum, I think we must all be passionate about our holidays and travel. I will look at all of the suggested web sites tonight and post on what hotel I decide to book with.

Just updating this thread as we still haven't booked a hotel, the prices in Alicante itself are a lot more expensive for a hotel than in Benidorm, anyone know of a cheap hotel in central Alicante?

Why are you wanting Alicante in particular?

My parents owned an apartment next door to the Los Dunes hotel in Benidorm for around 20 years and so I have been to Benidorm many times, last year was the first time my girlfriend had been to Benidorm and she loved it.

We managed to get some very cheap flights to Alicante and My parents are always telling me what a great place Alicante city itself is and I have been through it many times but never stopped. I think I would like to go myself.

However we are on a very tight budget, my Girlfriend is a student and I work flexible hours and we are both addicted to travel and seeing new places. Looking around at hotel prices it seems that Alicante is twice as expensive as Benidorm. We had a rethink last night and have decided to book a hotel in benidorm and as our flights are early arrival in Alicante to spend a day there.

Worth a mention there are two people on 'Ebay uk' who are advertising for airport transfers to benidorm, we will catch the coach as it costs very little but I spotted this whilst looking for accomadation.
