Have you used these sites and had good service. Are they recommendations?
i have only used them for advertising but i cannot give a cast iron recommendation for purchasers
To be honest, I think there are better sites which are alot more user friendly and have much more choice.
Some very nice villas/homes on theese sites , High prices also!
We have used holiday rentals and owners direct, there is plenty of choice and easy to use.
Surely recommendations should be sites that some one has booked through not just information anyone could get by googling?
They are not user friendly at all, you click on them and get taken of somewhere else.
There are much better sites on the net.
You can do this for any post on the site!
However, I would bear in mind that maverick57uk posts lots of useful and informative posts on this site!
I haven't used any of these sites, but they are useful sites that I haven't seen before. Someone might find them of some use, and he has stated that they are not personal recommendations.
i'm sorry if i have upset you in anyway
Will move this one to Private Rentals and Owners Abroad where it is more appropriately suited.
However, since advertising with Travel Library (totally free) I have had several bookings through my advert there. Each contact comes directly to the e-mail address you provide when joining up, so there is no contact via Travel Library itself.
For example, here is a link to the section for Benalmadena in Spain, where I advertise my own property. Each week the featured property changes so each advert gets a turn at the top. This shows the type of advert you can post, including photographs, at no cost.

And no, that's not my advert at the top right now, incase anyone thought I was planting a sneaky advert of my own on here.
To advertise, simply click on that link and go to "Member Logon" at the top right hand side of the page. As a non-member, you will then be asked if you want to sign up. Easy as that.
Having said all that, for regular contributors to Holiday Truths forums, you can place an advert here: http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=63 which will be hard to beat for responses.
I had one on there for a long time and received more visits to my website linked from here, than from all other links put together.
that is so true jayjay and the people viewing it know we are always around and have been for along time good old h/t
I'm not sure what happens with the private rental forum as there do not appear to be as many advertisements on there as there used to be.
they have cleaned it up i haven't re-done mine yet but will do soon
My own advert got kicked off, as I had been working away from home and hadn't used the forum in quite a while. I have to say I totally agree with the decision, even if my own circumstances made posting difficult.
Like Maverick, I will re-apply soon, once I have been posting for a while.
i did get a email telling me to update then it would not be removed but hey work came first i'm afraid still i will get round to it
However, as we moved into 2008, it became obvious that most of the remaining adverts were considerably out of date, even although the members concerned were still regular supporters of the forums. Many of the adverts had not been updated since 2005 and were unlikely to attract the attention of prospective guests. All existing eligible members were invited to submit a new advert within 14 days, before the old adverts were deleted. All but one of the members concerned read the PM almost straight away, but for whatever reason, very few of them bothered to reply to the PM or submit a new advert. Obviously we can't force members to submit a new advert if they don't want to. Perhaps personal circumstances have changed in some cases, and they no longer have a property to rent. Old adverts were removed 2 weeks later as planned and that now leaves current content rather low at the moment. But while there are not many adverts just now, at least those there are current and are attracting renewed interest, and numbers will hopefully increase as the months go on.
Jay Jay, if I recall correctly, your advert may have been removed because there was a break of over 6 months in your posts. Obviously working away at the time, you were not able to provide any regular input towards holiday discussion on the forums. But you've been back a while now, so please do feel free to submit a new advert again.

david i'm not having a pop ,i think it was a great idea i am just very lazy and suffer to much with turkish laid backness in me to redo the advert, keep up the great work mods
Cheers Dave, I'll submit an ad in the next few days. I was waiting until I had been back on for at least six months.

Just whenever is convenient, Jay Jay. But bear in mind that if you are ever working away from home again, you will be expected to take a laptop with you and keep on posting on a regular basis, otherwise the advert goes !!

Despite your laid back approach maverick, I'm glad to see that you have now submitted your advert.
