I've been looking at the cost of flying to Gatwick from Edinburgh and then on to Dalaman, Turkey in July next year as it is so much more expensive to fly from Edinburgh or Glasgow at that time (school hols) Can anyone give me a link for accomodation at Gatwick so I can see if the trip still works out cheaper that way
thanks
http://www.holidayextras.co.uk I do all of our O/N's at Gatwick through them, and never had a problem.

i have always stayed at a hotel called the IFIELD HOTEL which is a few minutes away from Gatwick , but i always drove from teh NW as they offered 1 months free car parking in the winter and 2 weeks in the summer , also theyhad the courtesy bus to teh airport i have used the hotel about 4 times and it iis brilliant
Just make sure you don't book to stay at the Russ Hill hotel !
Last year we stayed at the Hilton at Gatwick. I found that the price was not much more expensive than the other hotels around the airport. The big advantage is that the hotel is attached to the airport via a covered walkway. It literally takes 5 minutes from hotel room to checkin. If you have an early flight there is nothing stopping you from checking in and then going back to the hotel for a shower or breakfast. That is what we did last year.
However I would have been VERY disappointed had we paid full price as I am afraid to say it was really quite grubby. Food in the restaurant was expensive for the very poor quality.
By the way Tennertastic is on just now through Travelodge for April and May!!
