We stayed there last year - for about 4 hours !
The location is nice, stunning views and a lovely pool. Was shown to our rooms and our hearts sank. Tiny rooms of the very basic variety. So we went out to the pool and tried to order drinks, but Basil and Sybil didnt have this and they didnt have that so we had some drinks we didnt want and began to think - hey its time to go, why waste your holiday. So we finished our drinks and grabbed a taxi out to Petra and checked into a little place called the Lassia where we have stayed before. Ruth and Jim run the Lassia and Ruth quickly organised for Jim to drive us back to the Acropol so we could collect our things. We then enjoyed one of our best holidays ever. Comfortable apartment, great food and perfect company.

If anyone going to the Lassia this year - please send our love to Ruth and Jim. We are going to Latchi in Cyprus in September which is another love of ours, but will of course return to the Lassia next time we go to Lesvos.

Hi Peewee & Rhombus,
we were in Lesvos in July and stayed just outside Molyvos in the area known as Eftalou. Our accomodation was excellent in all respects. Its called the Panselinos hotel. We looked at Latchi for our Sept. holiday but were uncertain about where to stay so ended up booking Crete. Can you advise on Latchi for a future visit, thanks.

Glad you enjoyed your visit to Molyvos. We also stayed once in the Eftalou area at the Aphrodite which had a great location but a bit of a dark walk back from town at night.

Latchi is tiny in comparison to say Moylvos or Petra and we stay at little hotel / restuarant which is about a 10 minute stroll from the actual town itself which has a few shops and a number of bars and restaurants. It is growing, but is still small enough for us. Not too far from Polis which is also nice, and you can drive along the beautiful coast line and explore.

Yes it was quite a walk back in Lesvos and the Panselinos was further out than the Aphrodite but we had a car for a week and used the hotel bus most of the time. We liked Lesvos a lot and will almost certainly return, with so many islands we dont often do that. The First Choice transfer was terrible, it took longer to get to the hotel than the flight time from Gatwick to Mytillene! Everything else was great.

Know what you mean about the transfer from Myteline. Have often thought that it must put people off. Dont know what the extra is for a Taxi but it must be worth considering. Apart from the transfer problem Lesvos is a great place for a chill out holiday and we just love Petra and Molyvos.

Hi Pete,
the next time we will collect our car at the airport. This transfer was hell. It was unusually hot (39C), the air con was really weak and one chap was overcome by the heat. No water was available on the bus and 2 people got off after 2 hours to get a taxi. The last time we had a transfer of this length in the Pelion, everyone was given a free bottle of water when boarding and at the halfway point we stopped at a taverna for a break. If First Choice were transporting animals like this they would face prosecution. Luckily we were travelling with Tapestry in the Pelion.
