We did the package holiday in February, and loved it
After spending 2 weeks here, I'm confident enough now to 'go it alone'
We want to go back again next year, but this time we want to make some savings and do it all ourselves ie without any travel agent help, has anyone else done it this way (I'm sure a lot of people here have)
We'll probably only be going for 7-10 days this time due to holiday restrictions - will we be able to get flights this flexible? or do we have to go for either 1 week / 2 weeks ??
Should we arrange the accomodation first or just fly out and turn up on someones doorstep??
I think we'll go for Palolem this time, as we visited and loved it there
Chris
We have done it independantly this year.
We booked our flights which are via Mumbai with Southall travel and have booked a guesthouse in Candolim
It has worked out in total with taxis fro airport to guest house much cheaper, I will PM you the costings

We are going for a month in November

The shorter the time you visit the less profitable going independantly is. If you go scheduled booking today I doubt you will get much cheaper than £450 ( Iv'e just tried and that includes Southhall travel), add on average digs and you will pay about £500 or so. Depending on when you go i.e. Nov. or March I would hope to get a last minute deal cheaper than that. Once you start staying for four weeks or more however it becomes much better to do your own thing Alan
Forgot gramps
