Riu Park El Kebir 4 stars in Hammamet is a very good all inclusive hotel. We stayed there last November and had a great time
The Phenicia is a lovely hotel - I stayed there a couple of years ago, although not on the AI option. One thing though - there's not a lot outside the hotel actually on your doorstep. I mean this in the sense of walking out the door and there it is. If you don't mind walking or taking a short, inexpensive cab ride though there's lots around. It's near to South Hammamet's late bars and restaurants, a short cab ride to both Hammamet centre and Yasmine Hammamet, and there are a few bars and cafes etc along the road outside the hotel.
Of course this may have changed a little - I remember going to Hammamet one year in May, then returning in August to find so many new bars, clubs and restaurants that had been opened in preparation for the high season!
The Chich Khan is right in Yasmine Hammamet, and if you don't mind being in a purpose built resort is from what I've heard also a good choice.
Wherever you stay, you'll be able to book excursions and as said the taxis are cheap for doing your own thing, and you'll often find one or more waiting outside the hotel.

hi we've just got back from a week i hammamet at yasmine beach hotel and it was glorious! I wanted to write a review but my hotel was not listed here. If anyone can tell me where my review can be added please advise. Yasmine Beach has had such a bad press i almost changed my mind about going! My God though, me and my family are glad we went. We stayed all inc. and it was fab. Food was vary varied and all edible (if a little bland here and there), always some choice for the kids including spaghetti, chips, pizza and pastas. Desserts were delicious with the juiciest strawberries EVER and lots of them, not to mention freshly baked cakes etc.Not my cup of tea but my husband adored them all, delicious shortcrust bases....mmmmmmmmmmm. Breakfast, freshly baked pastries, croissants, omelettes made in front of you, with your own choice of ingredients, crepes and honey....Anyway, I'm going on! Weather was great IN MARCH...so again, don't believe all you hear people cos i thought it was going to rain. As for the best all inc in tunisia try the yasmine beach in hammamet, okay not a 5 star as they say...but very clean, very good service in hotel, lovely friendly people, local to medina, beach, shopping, carthage land (themepark for kids), only negative is the distance from airport, about 1 n half hour trip but it's scenic and not too bad if you don't mind a bit of travelling. Thanks for advice before i went.
