havent been to the rinella but went to the arina sands hotel next door there is nothing at all in kokkini hani just a couple of restaurants and souveneir shops there is a small train that takes you round the resort and neighbouring resort of gouves (which has a bit more to do) so you can get your bearings. the water park is very near and cheap enough by taxi if i remember corectly. you can also get on the local buses as they are very easy to negotiate and all the bus stops are numbered so you can remember which stop to get off. hersonisis is easily reached by bus and has lots to do i think at the far end there is a play/fun area with go karts crazy golf etc.crete is a beautiful island that has lots to explore i am not too sure how easy that would be with a one year old and it does get very hot
