Hi need advise on who to travel with from Glasgow to Bodrum in September 2007.
any help appreciated.
thanks
Marion
We fly to Turkeymost years and always from Glasgow. All the main tour operators are fine, although we do have a preference for Thomas Cook. I guess it depends on which holiday you choose and where?Interestingly, we have booked for Altinkum in June through Thomas Cook but our flight is " MYT" which is My Travel. If the airline you choose is an issue for you then you can check at the time of your booking enquiry, which is a good idea as some holidays will use Turkish airlines such as Honor air or Pegasus, which may not have all the facilities you want on the flight, e.g. in-flight entertainment or alcoholic beverages, although things could have improved since the last time I flew with these carriers.

Hi we have travelled all over turkey from glasgow and most times with thomas cook ,never had any problems.
You couls always try

I have been with them a few times now and they were fine and very well priced. They tend to use Pegasus as an airline which generally dont have in flight entertainment, however soft drinks are free and the food is fine
I have also used Goldtrail , http://www.goldtrail.co.uk however if you use Goldtrail do some background research on the property you are going to. Some of their places are very poor although some are fine. They tend to be the cheapest but you get what you pay for

Hi, thanks for your replies. I have been looking at DIY and have found very reasonable accomodation, transfers etc. I have looked at Flights via holidays 4U and can get my flights for £348 for 2 leaving 2-9-07 and returning 9-9-07. Do you think this is an okay price. I priced up the holiday as a package and then DIY the same holiday and it comes out just over £200 cheaper.
diy holidays are all very well for people who have done it before ,but as far as i am concerned you cant beat sitting back and letting a tour operator do everything for you . i like to come off the plane right on to the bus ,not looking for taxis and such like , i suppose it comes down to choice and experience , just not for me.
I did DIY Sept 06 to benidorm and It all ran so smooth. i am booking my transfers with resorthopper again as I had no probs what so ever with them and I feel that £200 is better in my pocket than someone elses.
All booked up Esra Apartments (Altinkum), flights for 2 adults, transfers and Insurance departing from glasgow on Sunday 2nd Sept returning sunday 9th September £539.91. DIY. Cheapest I could get package was £778. Made a wee saving for a couple of efes.
Probally as we are 2 adults and 2 kids and kids get free places/discount on package but have to pay full price for flight only.
Mad eh.
I managed to get a package for 2 weeks in Icmeler for £440,so its just a matter of shopping around.
Enjoy your holiday when it comes

We were going to go to Icmeler and for me the wife and two kids , it worked out at £1,700 with Direct Holidays from Edinburgh. After a friend recommended some accomodation in Dalyan, I booked that online and got flights only to Dalaman from Holidays 4 U. The owner of the aprtment will pick us up at the airport. Dalyan looks a lovely spot and total cost
