Hi
We are a family of 4 which includes 2 teenagers aged 17 and 14 and are considering Cyprus (was ready to return to Zante but something is stopping me?
Travel during the school holidays.
We would need 2 bedroomed apartment/villa.
A pool on site and close to the beach (hubby and youngest son like snorkelling).
A few bars/restaurants to enjoy of an evening with maybe a little entertainment.
Will book direct with owners.
Flying from Manchester.
Any suggestions please.
Thanks in advance.
Irene
cant haelp with accomodation but would sujest you look in the Protaras/Permera area if DIY then also look in the members private rentals for the Paralimni district [which covers this past of the coast]
I would thouroughly recommend that you look at http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk
I use them regularly and never had a bad place yet.
In 2007 we hired a loveley Villa in Paphos (plus they picked us up at the airport for a small fee) and had a great time.
Cheers

INVALID URL some lovely villas around ayia napa/nissi beach area.
Hi, as above post :- Thanks for your replies.
Friend sent me the link to Owners Direct - choice is huge.
Need to sit down with our sons and choose.
Will be back on for any other queries we may have.
Thanks again.
Irene
The beaches in Protaras are in a different league to Zante, i was in Tsilivi a few years ago and the beach was awful
Whereas the beach at Kalamaki is fabulous and Turtle Beach in the south of Zante would match any of the Cyprus east beaches
http://www.yiannamarie.com as they have a few villas to rent and you can use the facilities if the hotel.
(I should be on commision for these lot )

Looks like Owners Direct has the largest selection - now it is just sorting the one for us. Still have not settled on a resort hoping to get a villa within walking distance to somewhere that has a supermarket and a few restaurants for when we want a 'change of scenery'
Would like to hire a car and see a few places of interest and then we could also do a 'big shop' for all the BBQ's that hubby will cook.
Any suggestions for flights - we normally fly with TC?
Thanks again for all your input.
Irene
If you decide on Ayia Napa area just be very aware of 2 things
Many villa owners advertise their villas as being "Ayia Napa" when they're not, they're actually in Ayia Thekla which is a good 3 miles outside Ayia Napa near the waterpark, so check the location very well.
Secondly if you do opt for Ayia Thekla be assured you can't walk into Napa centre and there's nothing in Ayia Thekla other than more villas and a very small shop....that's it ! There are a few bars and restaurants about a 1 mile down the road in the Macronissos area but not enought to keep you entertained. A taxi from Thekla will cost you approx 10 Euros at least each way. Nice beaches and having a car of course you could get to wherever you liked but obviously someone will always have to drive.
Take a look around the Protaras and Pernera area when your searching as you'd have everything you need and many of the villas are within walking distance of everything. best supermarket locally would be Orphanides which is on the outskirts of Paralimni very close to Pernera
Flight wise....not sure where your flying from ?? But take a look at Monarch as they fly from Manchester, Luton & Gatwick
Thanks for that advice.
We have tried checking out properties on Google - not having much luck. Certainly want to be near some civilisation.
We are flying from Manchester so will look at Monarch.
Thanks again.
Irene
Your welcome.
Try Googling pernera villas rent
There's 100s of websites there and you'll be able to suss out Protaras and other areas too, again be a little wary of Kapparis, nice place but predominantly residential and again nice beaches but not near anything major nightlife wise or restaurant wise without using a car or taxis in the evening
Thanks for the additional info.
We have a 'short list' of about 6 at the moment.
If I named the areas are you able to give me any good/bad points?
Still not sure of which area we will choose?
Thanks again.

No problem.....I'll do my best to help you
This year will be 20 years to Cyprus for us.......48th trip So I'm not an expert but I know where most things are as I've stayed all over the island....can't help coming back to the East though as I prefer the beaches here
I came on here asking for advice and thanks to you all for information.
There is so many places we have looked at for Private Villas and have to say we are spoilt for choice.
We are looking at 2 places Latchi/Polis area and Parlimmi, cam anyone add any further information which may be useful - good and bad?. We are hoping to be able to walk into a small village where there would be a few restaurants and a couple of supermarkets to top up on supplies. We hope to hire a car.
Thanks Irene
After weeks of trawling the internet and checking availability - looks like we have found a villa the 'ticks most boxes'
It is in the Protaras Area.
Now we just need to find reasonably prices/timed flights and car hire. Any ideas/suggestions.
Thanks for all your help.
Irene
Try Monarch for Manchester to Larnaca
Hi Irene we are flying with Thomsonfly on the 8th july to Larnaca, they fly from manchester also try Flythomascook we flew with them last year.
Without paying silly prices flights on return leave around midnight - don't fancy leaving accommodation before noon and then hanging about.
