Don't worry about clothing, short skirts, strappy tops are no problem in the tourist areas, topless around the pool and on the beach is fine, just don't go walking around just in a bikini away from the beach or pool. You will need shoulders covered and long skirts/trousers if you want to visit a mosque.

Giff, you sound a bit like me and I have never had a problem. As the others have said, just be aware that you need to cover your head, arms and legs if you are visiting a mosque. Personally, I always have a light headscarf in my bag and my 'beach pyjamas' come in handy when I want to go from the pool to the bar or restaurant for a drink or lunch.

Have a great time, I am sure that you will love Turkey, especially with your attitude.

Any thing goes really in Turkey, but I always feel its best to slip a sorong on when leaving the beach to visit a cafe or bar.rather than getting fully dressed which can be a bore if going back to beach after, if you feel tthat is not suitable for you just pop a tee shirt and sorong on, what ever makes you feel comfy.
You will soon settle into the life and relax, when you have been there a day or two.
As you say show you respect, cover up for the mosque.
You will have aa wonderful time with great people who can not do enough for you, let us all know how you get on.

Another daft question but do i need to pack thick sweaters and coats for evenings or will light sweaters be better? We are going to be there from mid to end June. Sorry for being a numpty. :D

Something like a cotton cardi will do the job.

Hi, you will love Olu Deniz, we have just come back from a great holiday there. You will not need anything thick and warm to wear, last week I was sat outside at midnight in a vest top and skirt. The week before did put a thin cardigan on a couple of times about 9pm. It gets hotter every week so by the time you go it will be very warm. Have a great time and don't worry about what to wear it is a small resort and really friendly wear whatever you want you get a mixture of clothes there, mostly smart casual in evenings.
