Most airlines like the lead party to be a minimum of 18. My friend did manage to get BMI Baby flights for her son this year and they were all 17years old. Not sure that Charter will do it though.

My nephew travelled alone to cyprus and he is 16 but he had to prove he was meeting someone when he got there.

I don't think I would be happy about my 17 year old going on hols on their own.... omg i am an over protective mother!!! My eldest has just turned 5, I am dreading having to let the strings go!

Awww thanks Bluepeter, I am very blessed to have them, one of each, perfect.... I have had many problems and had to have a hysterectomy so I am doubly blessed.

I can't ever imagine them being on hols on their own... even when they are 30!!! Heehee!!! However I bet it's lovely going on hols without them.... ;)

Imagine readng by the pool without being on watch all the time... bliss!!

lol nikki, you are defo blessed but you need to let them go at some point

I had left home at 17 so no parent could have stopped me going abroad
Having said that i didnt go abroad on my own at that time so im not sure about the laws but i did hear someone in the party needs to be 18 or over

Try Thomas Cook. Im just back and there was a group of girls who were all 16 and 17 on our flight with no one over
18.

There's nothing to stop you booking a flight for a 17 year old. The problem arises booking a package holiday as some TOs won't allow those under 18 to sign a contract. Under 18s can't sign a legally binding contract.

Awww that's so lovely bluepeter! What a love!

I can't ever imagine getting to the stage where I can read by the pool!! It will come tho! :D

I love watching them play in the water it's fab. My son who has just turned 5 can swim so I am not as worried about him but my daughter who is 15mths would just jump in at the deep end! :yikes

Aww bless ya moving out at 17, I did at 19 and thought I was young!

Can't wait 11 more sleeps!!!

Best years of my life holidaying with the girls. Never out the water and always had wrinkled fingers. They are now grown up (25 + 21) but this year oldest and partner with us for two weeks in Club Turquoise and youngest joined for the second week ... bliss ! and still got wrinkled fingers.

Nikki they will be adults in the blink of an eyelid! Enjoy those precious times, the sunbeds and books will soon be with you lol. I think we are going off topic now but my 2 still love to come with us, often with friends in tow. For the second time this year they will join us in Turkey next week. There will be 10 people with 5 of them being between 18 and 21. Obviously they go off and do their own thing some of the time but I just love having them around. A table for 10 by the water's edge with all the laughing and joking is my idea of heaven. Mine flew alone before they were 18 but this was on a flight only not a package tour.
