thanks
Basil the owner can be a bit moody and the furniture in the appartments could do with a change,as for the resort itself we have been back twice in the last two years and would go again to-morrow.
No discos
No fish and chip shops
No English pubs
Only nice and friendly Greeks.
Sounds like heaven, cant be too many places like that left
We stayed at St. George South end of June stayed at the blue diamond studios, were very nice with a good pool. Don't know your studios, lovely quiet resort. Good places to eat, Panorama, sat in the gardens next to the sea. lovely. Balcony, very good food and nice people. San Carlos was excellent, again sat in the garden by the sea. Le Bistrot, looks a little posh, more restaurant type than taverna but this was really excellent and not expensive. For a nice bar visit Amazona, run by Tony and his brother Yanis and Angela. You will have a nice time, we wanted to go again next month, but thought it might be a little quiet for two weeks as we don't hire a car. but if its just a lazy holiday its good.
thanks to all who posted info its been really helpful, after I booked this holiday I started to worry in case I'd got it wrong, but after research on the internet etc. I couldn't have picked a more relaxing holiday with no 18 to 30's in sight.. Just hope the apartments are OK along with my house after leaving 2 kids aged 20 and 24 for 2 weeks
http://www.agni.gr , then go to gallery, then holiday snaps, then scroll down to gardika lake korisson and st. george sth. I have posted a few pictures of the resort . Hope this helps. We are in oiur 50's and the resort was just nice
If you type in
thanks bejay I had already looked at these ones, thats what convinced me I'd got right. We'll be fifty next year so this holiday should be perfect. Roll on September 5th.
Hi Alixpcat,I too have been going to St George South for the last 7 years now!!Can't seem to want to go anywhere else!!Lovely resort, lovely people and a beautiful beach.I have also posted photos on the agni site, hope you enjoyed them.
First time ever to join one of these forums although I always browse them before booking a holiday.First time to Greece,Aghios Giorgios South.9th September,I have only read 2 reviews about Brouskos Studios, anymore info would be appreciated. When on holiday we normally find booking trips ourselves is much cheaper, but advice on boat trips, prices etc to Paxos,Anti Paxos. How far would we be from other nice resorts and any recommendations. After reading loads of reviews I have a feeling that this wont be our last holiday to Greece.
Hi, You will really enjoy St George South!LOvely resort. There are a few boat trips direct from there with Kostas. He does Paxos,Antipaxos and the caves every wednesday and sunday, price last year was 23 euros. It leaves at half 8 and you return at half 5.They also do the blue lagoon trip and that was 18 euros.Leave at 10.am and return at 5 and that is on a monday. You can buy tickets on board and there is also a bar on there.Really enjoyable trips.Apart from kavos, messonghi isn't too far away for a day trip. You will pass through there on your way to St George South.Any more info you require please do not hesitate to pm me
Hi Matsui, thanks for your reply,I have seen some photos and you say the beaches are lovely,we cant wait to go.My partner and myself usually like to relax at the pool or the beach most days, but normally we have a couple of trips in between and as we have never been to Greece before we want to see a bit of it.We have been to Majorca,Portugal,Canary Islands,Turkey,I have a feeling Corfu is along the same lines as Turkey. And looking at your reply you are the same age as me,so I dont know if you think the same but we like to book our holidays at the beginning of the season May or in September,is it cold at night time when we go,will we need to take some warm tops/jackets etc.Sorry to ask so many questions.
Enjoy Corfu, once you have been to the Greek Islands I don't think you will want to go anywhere else again!!
Cheers,
Sue
Thanks.
