AI & Wristbands

Most AI that I have stayed at issue wristbands upon check in, especially in the Carribean. In Tunisia, we were issued with a photo-card that had to be produced at bars/restaurants and at a couple of hotels in Turkey there were no cards or wristbands. I know many people don't like wristbands (intereferes with the tanning process??) - you can usually carefully stretch them so that you can take them on and off when required!

I always ask if they will put it on a couple of inches above my watch, that way you can remove it easily.

Thats a good idea putting it on a couple of inches about watch. Didn't really want to have to wear it we decide to go out of the hotel etc. also don't fancy a nice white stripe around my wrist!!! Vain I know but can't be doing with anything getting between me and my sun tan!!

The first time we went AI was in Mexico and had the band on my right hand so It wouldnt interfere with my watch,or so I thought.Every time I had a shower it scratched me to bits as Im right handed!

Stayed A1 for the first time in Spain last year , and we had our photo's taken and put on a credit card style card which was swiped each time you used it........... no problem at all getting a new one if the children lost there's

I prefer that idea of a card and not being recharged if it gets lost. My son would lose his head if it wasn't screwed on!!

we told them we we allergic to thebands and we tied them onto hairbands that we could then loop through belt loops on shorts, bikini strings, bags etc or just carried, so no scratching or tan lines for us

We stayed in Benidorm last year and the hotel used photo-cards instead of wrist-bands, but everywhere else we've been have used wrist-bands. One idea I've seen is ask them to attach it to your watch so you can remove whenever you like ie. swimming or shower etc.

Cheers :glynis

Just returned from the Baia Bodrum Hotel in Turkey.

We didn't need to wear wristbands or carry photocards.

Excellent hotel, service etc. Only downside was that it was far too hot!!!

When we go AI, we always ask for the band to be loose enough to be removable, so we can remove it if we want to. When they put it round your wrist, just slide four fingers loosely underneath, and it'll stay on but can be removed for sunbathing etc.

At the Conrad, Sharm, you're given the bands to put on yourself so you can have them as loose as you wish.

We actually got away with not wearing them at all, just carried them with us in our beach bags as that was the only place we were occasionally asked to show them, never in the restaurants or hotel bar
