When I travel to Austria for a summer holiday I usually fly from H'Row to Munchen, hire a car and drive the short distance into Austria.
Over the last couple of years the fares to Munchen have risen to more than double!.....so I am considering using Air Berlin and flying to Nuremberg instead, which is not too far north of Munchen.
Has anybody used Nuremberg?....if so, any good?........car hire good?

Nuremberg is nowhere near as big as Munich, so not as busy. I have only used it once but found it pretty easy to get around. All the usual car rental firms are there. Air Berlin are a good airline, far superior to Ryanair and Easyjet.
And if you are flying into Nuremburg, might I suggest you take a day or so to see the old town, and the chilling Nazi constructions - the stadium and the marching grounds, and if you really want to be chilled, the museum. Puts current life into perspective really quickly.
