we had a stop at gatwick before heading back to manchester some yrs back.
the plane was down for 2hrs and no one was allowed of apart from passengers for gatwick.
Air transat were oknot the worst by along way although Canada 3000 were better ( whatever happend to them).
If you stick to flight numbers TS800 to TS879 you'll actually be on a Thomas Cook code share. Same money...difference is night and day.
Air transat feels like it could be a prisoner transport, excruciatingly painful seating, the food is inedible, seriously just refuse it and bring your own. ie The plastic container it was microwaved in had melted to the point where it had lost it's shape, accompanied with a stench to give you a headache. The service was surly...I could go on. Why bother?
Just keep to TS800 to TS879 series and you'll be as right as rain.
I'm not a novice traveler, I've flown with many gauges of equipment for several decades and they were by far the least pleasant experience.
Air transat use the Airbus A310-300. You'll find a seating plan on Seatguru and further aircraft information on Air Transat's website. IFE is provided via screens above the isle and seating is personal preference.

hi there i am flying to toronto from glasgow on 9th july with this company can you tell me what plane it will be and if possible the exact plane please i am under the impression from someone that it will be a thomas cook airplane
Do you have your flight numbers? Thomas Cook and Air Transat operate a codeshare. Are you on the TCX054K departing GLA at 1340? If so, it'll be operated by a Boeing 757-200 (187 seats). G-WJAN has been operating the flight recently. Refer to our What Aircraft? thread for more details.

thanks dazbo yes that is the flight i am on
In club class on air transat airbus 310 there are 3 rows does the third row recline the same as other rows or is it limited because it is last row
Also is there still enough room if the seat in front fully reclines
Thank You
Club class is 34" seat pitch so not the roomiest for an upgrade but better than economy. The last row of seats recline as normal. When seats in front recline, it does impact on your space but obviously not as much as in economy.
Darren
Also is the club class fitted with seat personal IFE on the A330 and A310 (blimey they must be old) or do they still use 70's style overhead screens?

It's hardly 70's style!! Seat back IFE wasn't even an option when the A330 was first introduced in the late 90's! It's only the last 10 or so years where seat back IFE has become the norm on new aircraft. As far as I know, there isn't any seat back IFE in Club with Air Transat. You're just paying for extra legroom, baggage and service.

We are flying to Toronto from Gatwick on 11th November returning 15th November. Flight numbers TS423 outbound and TS 222 inbound.
Could somebody please tell me if they will be Air Transat or Thomas Cook planes?
How is the IFE set up on both flights
We have booked seats, but I think I may have had the plan back to front!! we have booked 43 J & K (airbus A310) outbound and 43 A &B (Airbus A330) inbound. Can someone tell me roughly where the seats are and if possible, whether there are any restrictions to windows, or seat reclining?
Thanks very much
You are traveling with Air Transat. Seats plan for the A310 here and A330-300 here. IFE information is on Air Transats website.
Darren
Thanks very much for the quick reply Darren
Maybe I am going mad but the A310 plan does not show seats 43??
I suspect your flight is operated by the A333 on your date of travel as it varies between the A310 and A330.
Darren
Thanks Darren
I know this has nothing to do with a Thomson Flight but can you find out what aircraft (reg number) has been flying this route i know its a A330-200 just wanna know what REG??

I've moved your post from the Thomson Airways topic to Air Transat given it's a question relating to this airline. Air Transat have several Airbus A330's in their fleet that operate this route, and it changes pretty much every flight. There isn't a single aircraft used. You won't know the registration until the day of the flight. Air Transat won't know which this far in advance.

I know ive already asked you months ago darren, but is there any chance u could find out which A330-243 is currently down for this flight.. i understand that TS can change aircraft at last mintue. hope u can help..

It's still way too early to know the specific registration. I can have a look the day before to see what might be on that routing, but there are no guarantees. The aircraft operating LS216/7 usually operates TSTS790/1 (Calgary - Punta Cana - Calgary) prior to coming to MAN.
