We flew with FC in June and due to a baggage handlers mistake we missed our slot (A few bags put on plane that we actually for another flight) Gatwick did not allow our flight take off for another hour. Certainly not the airlines fault in this case!

Agree this is not the airlines direct fault, but with the ground handlers.
However, the ground handlers have a contract with the airline & it is up to the airline to ensure that the ground handlers deliver the service they have promised. There are lots of ground handling companies to chose from, some are better than others.

The 'few bags put on plane that were for another flight' as you call it is a serious error that has very serious security implications.

In this case I would blame the Airline as the people they employed to load the aircraft were not up to the job.

It is certainly not the fault of Gatwick airport that the ground handlers that FC use can't load their aircraft properly!!

If you employed a builder to build an extension & then he sent some underpaid, uninterested labourers who did the job all wrong, would you take it out on the people he sent round or the builder himself??

Like Las Palmas in Gran Canaria. Was delayed 4 hours until midnight but plenty to look at and loads of seating. Eateries not great mind

Least favourite airport? Every large international airport I've ever used because of all that hanging around and they all have the same shops - you could be in any shopping mall in the country - uncomfortable seats and overpriced junk food and miles to walk from check-in to the plane.

Most favourite airport? Stornoway in the Western Isles up here in Scotland! Small and friendly, decent cup of coffee and sandwich to be had if you've the time and you can arrive 10 mins before departure and still make it on to the plane! On one trip I arrived late even by my standards and after I'd found someone to check me in and expressed my concern at the thought that the reason why I'd found the check-in desk (not the singular!) deserted was because my flight to Edinburgh had already closed, was told 'Ah well, there was no need to worry, we knew you'd be on your way and we wouldn't let them go without you.' If only one could say this of every airport wouldn't air travel be bliss!

I posted earlier on but I have a new one to add to worse category
Best
Koh Samui( prettiest one - how about this for a terminal?)
Singapore

Worst
Zante
Rio( the facilities in the terminal are really poor. Please don't arrive any earlier than you need to for departure!)

Some of you will be surprised at this one as it's a new airport but New airport in Athens. Simple reason being that once you've gone through security which is after all the shops there are NO refreshments not even a vending machine. This was in April 2004. In other words if you've not taken drinks with you and delay is announced after you've gone through security then you've got a problem if it's a long delay. Up to this point the airport is brilliant. It's very new and has plenty of shops.

Favourite: Kona Airport on Big Island, Hawaii. It's a really quaint, little airport.

Least favourite: The airport we flew into when we went on holiday to the Gambia. Absolute chaos. Our bags were piled high on a trolley outside the front of the airport and we had to climb up onto the trolley and pull our our bags off!

My favourite is Liverpool John Lennon, used it 3 times last year, it is so easy compared to Manchester my other regional airport. Maybe I have just been lucky. Park check in and fly.
For large and glittzy Dubia.
Worse Larnaca

Wouldn't say it's best or worst - Blackpool. It's just bizarre. When we went to baggage reclaim, the concrete on the floor was still wet!
In departures, the check-in desks are in the middle of the room with a huge empty space behind. Go through security following the signs for the duty free shopping and there's nothing there. I didn't realise it was such a new airport. If you fly from there, watch out for the concrete dust. and dress warm, there's no heating! I've never seen anything like it before. Very entertaining. 9.30 Sunday evening and the place is full of builders.

In this country my favorite is Leeds Bradford, only twenty minutes from home, easy check in, up the escalator for a coffee, and off you go.

Dubai and Singapore are fantastic for the shops and facilities, and I quite like Prague once you've checked in, the restaurant is excellent, cheap and very good food.

Dabolim is awful, so much red tape, and as has already been mentioned Zante isnt too clever, Volos is more like a waiting room at the end of a runway.

Least favourite : JFK and Sharm-el-Sheikh

JFK because there is s*d all airside. Make sure you eat and drink well landside (i.e. before passport control), last time I was there there was only a duty-free shop, a bureau de change and someone selling hershey/snickers bars. If it's changed, can someone let me know.

Sharm-el-sheikh because it is overcrowded, there are hawkers everywhere, outside you are hassled by folk wanting to push your trolley and then demanding money at the door (get round this by either telling them to "go forth" or wait until your bags have entered the building and saying your cash is in them. Also the toilets were a joke - cramped, overflowing and someone (no id or anthing remotely resembling it) demanding money to let you in. Security is farcical, the "gates" are large enclosed areas (glass walled, ?8' high, but the roof is 20+' above), when you put your bags in for x-ray screening (this is the 2nd time), the attendants generally are not paying attention. I saw them upset a little girl, and then spend 10 mins trying to calm her down whilst all these bags went through the scanner, no one even looked at the screen. Everyone waiting to get into the gate can see the screens showing the contents of your bags - so ladies, please hide your personals well. Folk push past those going into the gate at the metal detectors to get out without any apparent control.

Seychelles : review for outbound only : cramped, limited shopping/refreshment services, one "hall" for all exiting (including transit and those getting off the plane whilst it is being refuelled).

Favourites
small : Kona (Hawaii), small, friendly helpful staff. The terminal building (at the time I was there) resembled small african mud-huts with thatched roofs. Very Quaint. Hertz let me upgrade my car from a sub-compact ( i.e tiny) to a large red convertable for $8 per day. Great fun, particularly as my wife had forbidden me to "come back with a big red convertable". She is still speaking to me though!!!

large : HNL (Honolulu). Open air walkways, space, helpful staff, clean

other : Seychelles : review for inbound only : Clean, helpful staff. Warning : it is forbidden to import tea and alcohol (trying to protect the local economy).

Other airports experienced with little to nothing much to comment on:

Teeside (Turham tees valley to give it it's new name), long time no visit, but nothing special last time

STN/LGW/LHR : typical BAA over priced/commercialised. Security took so long at LGW last time that they werre calling the flight when I cleared security. Had to leg it to get food/drink b4 the flight. Finished my drink in my seat on the plane during taxi. Long q's @ LHR last time, more staff needed. Havent visited STN for >10 years, was a dream then, but I gather much busier now.

Jersey : Typical regional holiday airport.

ORD (Chicago Ohare) : Large sprawl with long distances to cover if changing terminal buildings. Taking a 757 out of here can be an experience (particularly if your United pilot is trying to imitate taking off a carrier - ie very short roll and steep climb)

LAX (Los Angeles International) : Marginally better than JFK, at least there was food/drink airside last time I had 4 hrs to kill there.

EWR (Newark) : Best mainland US airport visited to date. Limited food/duty free shops, but the most courteous immigration/security people I have had the pleasure to deal with in the USA. Definately service with a smile. Thanks guys & gals. Good views of aircraft from the gates. Good exits to the freeway (once you've fought your way out of the car park)!!!

Maui (Hawaii) : Small airport, my baggage took the earlier flight so was unloaded and waiting for me when we arrived!!!

Kauai (Hawaii) : Sorry, cant remember it, can't have been anything special. Kauai is georgeous though!!!

Mallorca & Ibiza : 20+ years since last visited, but remember them as busy.

Manchester : See LHR/STN/LGW comments

favourite has to be Donny as it is right on our doorstep and cuts out all the hassle at check in time ( it takes 15 mins to get there from our house) and i also like Arrecife in Lanzarote..I dislike any airport where i have a long delay!!!!!

My fave in this country would have to be Doncaster - close to home,(reasonably) well laid out,and over all a much less rushed approach than many of the larger airports.

Favourites abroad - probably most impressed by Alicante - very spacious and clean.I also really like Dalaman, especially the little 'semi-gardened' area between arrivals and passport control. :)

Least favourite has to be Zakynthos - all the waiting outside, only to get inside and be mobbed by flies(when youve finally got a seat... )

My fave airport in this country is stansted its only about 45 minutes away from us so very handy :!: this year we are flying from luton :!: who knows..that might become the top of my list :!:
My least fave in this country is gatwick and the reason is it is too big!!!also it is about 2 hours away..what a drag!!!

My fave abroad is ...well a have a couple i love palma majorca and the only reason is that because im on holiday :yipee
I also love murcia airport spain :love2 and there is two reasons for this firstly when i go there the reason is my family lives near by!!( i can't wait for september to see them!!) and secondly i like this airport because it is so small when you land you walk accross the tarmac, your luggage is following you and they only have 2 carousels.. a very quick airport to go through!! although i will say you are limited to things like shopping and refreshments!! never found a problem at all with this airport!! but my dad did a couple of years ago....one of my uncles is a fruit farmer and gave dad aload of oranges and lemons dad couldn't say NO and decided to bring them home with him!!! Ryanair loved dad cos it cost him about £60 in excess bagage  i can laugh at it but my brother didn't speak to him all the way home to him cos he was so angry!!!!

i have to agree that Fuerteventura Airport is one of the best. It may not be the biggest in the world, but its modern, clean, comfortable and the outdoor seating section on either side of the departure areas offer great views in the glorious summer heat.
Furthermore, i would say alicante and tenerife sur would be up there too.
Shame that from the summer, MYT don't fly to La Romana in the Dominican Republic no more because for the caribbean, the airport was really nice.
But nothing beats the good old British airport of Manchester!!

On the other hand, also have to agree that reus is tiny and cramped. Only 2 belts in the arrivals area and 7 check-in desks so expect queus!!
