Hi think i've found a good deal on this hotel......
Has anyone got a map showing hotels from Colakli down the the Hemera/SQunrise Queen area..... wondering how far up the road it is....
And are there bars outside the Alba Queen, on the main road, or is it just shops? Don't want o have to get dolmus just to sit in a bar!
Also, Is it set back off the road with a long steep drive or flat? My mum has had a knee op and an incline causes her problems sometimes.....
It is set back from the road, from what I remember it might be a slight hill, but nothing steep. However, maybe wrong on that bit.
Once you are on the main road I would say 10 mins (15 at the MAX) walk up to the Hermera.
Opposite the Hemera is the bar we visited every night - Linda Bar. (Avoid Golden Fizz, nextdoor, these were aggressive towards us, and other bar staff, and have been rumoured to spike drinks). Closer bars include Brothers and Yusefs (would reccomend avoiding this one as well - four of us were ill after 1 drink) and lots more. These are towards Side, don't really know about any in the Colaki area. Obviously there are lots of bars in Side, these are more expensive, and you can get a dolmus easily. Most bars will offer a lift back to the hotel.
Hope I have helped, forigve me if I am wrong and other feel free to correct me.
Im familiar with the area of the Hemera and the bars there......thanks
I've read a lot of reviews about the hotel, but can someone verify if pool towels are included in the all inclusive package. With only 15kgs of luggage any non essentials will be left out for shoe space! Are meal times set to specific times or can you eat at whatever time you choose? I ask because the last AI hotel we stayed at in Tunisia had 2 set meal times for evening meals; 6.30pm and 8pm. The pictures of the rooms online look really nice but as there's only 2 of us I doubt very much if the standard would be the same! Online, rooms look very large and accommodate a double and single bed or bunk beds as well as separate sitting area. Can anyone who has stayed there as a couple let me know what a standard twin bedded room is really like.
Thanks in advance for answering any of my questions.

we picked up people from the alba queen and I got chatting to somebody who stayed there, they didn't like it and said the hotel isn't set up for brits. its near shops and bars but its not in the hemera area, we had the sunrise queen near us but the alba queen was 10 mins away by coach.
the hotels have a mixture of german, dutch and british, british were the minority when we went but can honestly say we had no probs and found the germans and dutch very friendly and a nice mix. the entertainment is done in german and english, we have rebooked for the alba resort for october, although this isn't brand new like the queen and royal we know what we are getting-re kids clubs etc
the dolmus also goes from outside the hotels frequently and Side town is great for bars and restaurants
hope this helps
We stopped at the alba queen last june and we are going again 20th may. We loved it yes there are not many brits but we also found that in Lara beach the hotel and food are really nice and the beach is really good too. Any questions please ask. Yes you get towels and you can go any time for meals. The room we stopped in had a massive queen bed in it rooms are not massive but i think thats due to the size of the bed fridge re stocked every day.
Im going back to the Sunrise queen, manged to get a price im happy with....
Thanks everyone for your replies, and apologies for late response. Didn't know my query had been merged and for some reason I wasn't being notified when response was added! Just want to say comments are much appreciated! Go in 4 weeks times and with the weather today I'm so looking forward to it, just hope the ash cloud behaves itself!
have a lovely time mairi-wish i was going sooner than october!
Thanks happyholidaysjojo, with snow falling here today I too wish we were going earlier! Mairi
Has anyone stayed in the bunkbed rooms at the alba queen? We have booked one of these rooms as we are taking the grandkids with us and we were told by the travel agent that these are larger and more superior rooms but, have no idea if this is the case. It is such a long way off to september and it can`t come quick enough for me as we are not having our may holiday this year so would like to know I have made the right choice. Many thanks Jacqui
