Hi All,
Off to Albufeira for first time on Thursday for 2 weeks. Staying at the Tropical Sol Apartments which I belive is 5 minute walk form the Strip and around 20 minute walk from Old Town.
Can anyone recommend any nice family friendly bars/restaurants we should visit. We will be eating out every night so any recommendations most welcome.
Any info much appreciated.
Sarah
You'll have a job to find somewhere that isn't family friendly, as the Portuguese, like most southern Europeans, absolutely love children and can't do enough for them. If your kids are small you might like a restaurant called Festa da Praia. Walk down to the end of the Strip (towards the sea) and turn right. The restaurant is about 2 minutes walk on the right hand side. We've never been there but apparently they have play equipment outside for the little ones and the food is excellent. If you carry straight on, that road will take you to Fishermans Beach and the Old Town. There are so many good places to eat there but one that everybody loves is Casa da Fonte, which is on the steps above the tunnel leading to the main beach. Just wander around and have a look at menus and settings - and prices!
The entertainment in the main square at this time is great for kids. They'll love the puppet man!
Have a great time!
Thanks for the info Rose.
