Tony, weather at the end of October is hard to predict. You should get mainly good days, with temperatures in the low 20s, but you could get some rain and a bit of chill. Evenings you'll need to wrap up a bit. Not coats but jackets and/or sweaters. Mosquitoes may be knocking around but should not be a major issue by then. But if you get a plug-in for the room and some lotion it may not be a bad idea.

i stayed at the mariners club in october a few years ago and the weather was sooooo hitty missy it was scorching one day and then it would pee down the next day. you will find that the mossies are worse after the rain, and the apartments are right in front of the mountains which can make it worse. they are really nice apartments tho but the only problem is you are miles from beach, dont be put off coz its a nice walk but about 20/30 mins or so but you will have a great time

I tend to think of the Balearics as a May to September type of destination, and by late October the average daily temperature is only around 16 degrees which is mild rather than warm (though it will feel warmer in the direct sun). If you're looking to sunbathe round the pool every day then you're probably going to be disappointed and would need to look at heading for the Canaries, which would typically be in the mid twenties. However if your mostly planning to explore then it could be very pleasant.

Regarding mossies, we had no problems the first few days in late August, then something brought them out and I got about 20 bites in the final week. My wife got only a few and the children none whatsoever, so it's all a bit of a lottery.

Northern resorts are much wetter than in the south of the island in october, its the near by mountains to alcudia, little areas of low pressure form on the the mountains and they whizz back and forth dumping large amounts of rain. I was in alcudia one september and we had 3 days of rain. Spoke to people when returning at the airport who were in southern resorts and they said they had sun all week.

The other thing about alcudia in october everything starts to shut down for the winter.

Cyprus and resorts like side and lara beach in turkey are still in the 80's in october with a warmer sea.

I have been to Majorca every October for the past 7 years and cannot remember any really bad weather. A few years ago we had a week that was predominetly cloudy and we had a bit of rain, but this was the exception rather than the norm. Last year it was very hot indeed, which was a bit unusual, but I would agree temps are in the mid twenties during the day and a bit cooler in the evenings, but not cold.

We have been to Majorca in October twice in recent years. Both times we have been blessed by lovely warm, sunny, dry weather. Last year was scorching. We had a couple of thunder storms and it chucked it down for a couple of hours but then the sun came out and it was hot, hot, hot again. Two hours rain in a fortnight cannot and would not complain. Hoping for nice weather this October, going to Port Aventura and the last time we went it rained persistently for most of the two weeks. If that happens this time we won't be returning  Still had a good holiday but good weather makes it a great holiday.
