Hi, I have been asked by a friend to find out the best way of getting from the airport to Denia, If the plane lands on time, it'll be around 12.30ish midday. She was thinking of getting the bus to Benidorm rather than going in to Alicante, is this the best option and also does anyone know what time the buses run from Benidorm to Denia, will they be able to get a connection?
I'd be grateful for any advise, thank you
Sue
Hi Sue ... for bus timetables from Alicante Airport to Benidorm, Benidorm to Denia, or Alicante City to Denia, please click here.

Thanks David, please can you tell me what Jaime 1 and A/Eur means, is it the new bus station and Avenida Europa? Oh also some just say Benidorm, where would they depart from?
Oh just one more thing, I notice that some of the buses seem to be express with no stops but others take a lot longer due to loads of stops. The one that might be suitable for them goes from Avenida Europa but can you purchase a ticket from there or do you have to go to the new bus station and also can you buy the same day or do you have to book the day before, or can you book online and print a ticket off? Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks
Sue

Hi Sue ... where it just states 'BENIDORM' in the timetable, that is Benidorm Bus Station.
'BEN.JAIMEI' is Avenida Jaime I on the Poniente side of the Old Town, and 'BENI.A.EUR' is Avenida Europa on the Levante side of town.
Some of the services stop at all three points, others may serve the bus station only.

Thanks David, I sussed out that Jaime 1 was in the old town after i'd posted so the "Benidorm " means the new bus station then... thanks again, i'll try to work it all out.

Sue has your friend thought about using the train, she could get a bus or taxi into Alicante and then a train/tram through to Denia. If the line has now been compleated from Benidorm to Denia the Train/Tram would go straight through.
Another option is to get the airport bus to Benidorm and then the train/tram to Denia.
There are services every hour and a bus run from various places around Benidorm to connect with the service. I am sure there will be one from the bus station or a taxi wouldn`t be much.
We always use the train/tram when in Benidorm and find them very good. We have travelled between Alicante and Denia.

I know that you can pay onboard from the airport on the bus to Benidorm but can anyone advise me if you can do the same from Benidorm on the Denia bus.
If you do have to buy an advance ticket, can you buy it from the new bus station but then board at the old bus station on Avenida Europa. One more thing, I think that I have read that you can't buy tickets anymore from Ave Europa, is that correct?
Thanks

Hi Sue, No you cannot buy tickets from Avenida Europa anymore ... the office has shut but you can still board the bus there (and disembark there also) . As for paying there ... sorry I cannot help. People have told me you have to book your place ... but I don't know if this is just in case the coach is full and it is to guarantee your seat. I was there the other day and everyone who got on already had a ticket so I would not like to say either way.
By the way while we were waiting at the stop on the Avenida Europa, there were 3 of the professional pick pockets eyeing us up (a young girl who looks about 16 and 2 older women in their 50's maybe). We have seen these in operation near the bar. They all look Spanish and dressed quite smart.
We were sat on one of the benches and the luggage compartment was wide open with everyone on the bus ... including the bus driver. I said how easy it would have been to lift one of the suitcases and walk off and if we had not been sat there this may have just happened. These women did not seem very happy that we were sat there.

oops this was for the airport by the way, but there were other coaches for other places there ... I believe they pick up at bus station then 10 mins later are at Avenida Europa
Thanks Michelle. I still can't find out if you can pay on the bus from The Europa to Denia. If not she could get off the bus at the new bus station buy a ticket for Denia then have a few drinks with me and get the bus from the Europa to Denia later in the day.

I have decided to meet my friend at the new bus station now, it's less complicated.
Is there a bar at the bus station and somewhere to eat? Also, is there an outside area or is it all under cover?
Thanks

Hi Sue
There is a cafe inside the bus station and there is an outside area/bays for the buses.

Go through passed the arrivals/departure board and the cafe is on your right....if my memory serves me well.
