Not All Inclusive, but known as Full Board Plus, Lykia World in Olu Deniz would be brilliant for a family with youngish kids. All the main operators feature it.

The food is outstanding, the kids clubs cover all age ranges, it has 17 swimming pools including a kids paradise and for adults the landscaped grounds, sea views and sunsets are stunning.

lykia world gets my vote too, the only all inc that i have enjoyed nearly as much as lykia was letoonia , this is 24 hr all inc and has its own website, its not quite as good as lykia but still great , slides into the sea great for kids, fab views, lovely food, kids club, you must get a hotel room not a bungalow as theres lots of steps to the bungalows. i have put some photos of letoonia in the gallery

check out the hotels at Lara Beach, Titanic, Concorde, Delphin Palace etc, they all get excellent reviews!

I like the sound of Lara area phil but reviews state Brits are in a minority with lots of Russians and Germans present.Will keep looking tho.

You will be hard pushed to find a good hotel in turkey that is mainly brits .When i first went to turkey years ago you hardly ever seen a russian but now they are allowed out of there country and it is only less than two hours flight they travel to turkey in droves .Used to worry me at first but now i could'nt care less .I just get on with my own holiday and if there is any sort of problem then i sort it as it happens .I would hate to have my holiday spoiled because of anyone .Certainly they can be a bit arogant and noisy ,but then again i have seen plenty brit as bad.

Your best bet is to find one that is in more than one British tour operator's brochure - not a 'Thomas Cook UK exclusive' or the like. At least then there should be a fair number of British people there, even if they are not the majority. The Hemera in Side seems popular on here, so may have a goodly number of Brits. Also the two AI in Olu Deniz itself. There's the First Choice Holiday Village too. Look for ones that have a lot of reviews in English on the web.

Lykia was very multicultural, although I would say the Brits dominated slightly, probably accounting for about 40%, the rest were Turks, French, Dutch, German, Russian etc. The head of entertainment, forget his name, was always bragging about how many languages he had to speak, he said he could speak 8 but was fluent in four. lol

This is a bit of a crass generalisation, but Dalaman airport seems to serve resorts that are favoured by the Brits, Antalya resorts favoured by Germans, Scandinavians etc

Tim, I'm going to the Titanic in 12 days so will report back, one of the guys on here, Denny53, I think seems to have been to alot of the hotels on Lara Beach so is probably best placed to advise on the strip.

Tim, We have been to several hotels in Lara beach, they are all 5* luxury AI, all 24hr Ultra AI, with very little to choose between them - some have more kids facilities, whilst others are more adult orientated. There are however a lot of other nationalities (mainly Russian) at these hotels, and whilst there are more Brits going every year,it does not suit everyone to be in the minority....
In fact, last July we went to a lovely hotel in Kemer, but we were the only British couple there, and we didn't enjoy it there, for that reason.
Also there is no resort centre in Lara beach, and very little in the way of bars and restaurants. And whilst it suited us with 3 very small children, to be at a hotel with every facility you could possibly need, it would not suit everyone. There are lots of day trips available though, if you want to get out of the hotel.....
We have also been to Club Letoonia in Fethiye, that is a great hotel, set on a beautiful peninsular, fab kids facilities, excellent food, 24hr bars with branded drinks, free boat over to Fethiye and then onwards to Hisonaru and Olu Deniz by dolmus. It's excellent. Plenty of Brits there (lots of other nationalities too)
People have also mentioned Lykia world, it gets rave reviews and there is also Pegasus Palace (HV Turkey) owned by First Choice. A few other nationalites, but mainly British. Also been to some great ones in Kusadasi....
Wherever you choose in Turkey, I'm sure you will have a great time.!

Many thanks fellow posters,I have decided and booked Belcekiz beach at Olu Deniz for next August,got a good deal from Thomsons shop after showing them a quote off the Portland site.Just as a matter of interest how long is the transfer from Dalaman airport?,Thomsons state that we have a premier service and will go direct to the Belcekiz Beach without any stops and looking in the different brochures they all state different transfer times between 1 hour 20 mins and 2 and half hours.Got great day flights as well so hopefully will enjoy the scenerary en route to the hotel.Hope our 7 year old boy enjoys it as we are wondering if it gets many families or is it mainly couples?

Great choice Tim . If you dont have any other drop offs I would say around an hour and a half . It will be a good mixture and plenty of British families in August.fabulous hotel in a fantastic location.

Brilliant choice Tim. I agree with Lyn if you are not going to drop off anywhere else, I would say a max of hour & a half may even be only an hour & a quarter.

When we did it in 2006 my kids slept for the coach journey as by then it was the end of quite a long day and I really enjoyed the ride, looking at the countryside, taking in my first sight of Fethyie etc didn't find it a problem at all and was glad I hadn't booked a taxi transfer at huge extra cost. BTW the coaches seem safer than the cabs and the rep gave us a bit of info on the area.

Hi, We went to Turgetreis last July with our 2 sons aged 16 and 13, we went to the Agean Dream Resort. It is the best All Inclusive we have been to and we have been to lots. It is very clean very relaxing and a nice 15 minute stroll to Turgetreis. My eldest son went to the on site disco most nights and had a brilliant time and my 13yr old we hardly saw for 2 weeks as he was into all the sporting activities they have. The food is excellent we had 2 rooms next to each other which was great because there was no rush for showers. You get a ticket on your first day for each person and hand it in around the pool area to receive a beach towel. (1 ticket per person) then at the end of your sunning session hand your dirty towel back and get a clean one for the next day. drinks were great and the massage spa I really enjoyed and quite reasonable, on your last day you have to be out by I think it was 12 midday but you can use the courtesy showers in the spa if you fly home later, there are 2 showers in the females and 2 in the men I think as well as a changing room. Just remember to change your towel after the beach, get a clean one and hold on to it for your shower. There are towel baskets in the changing rooms to put your dirty towels. We had the best time at this hotel there is something for everyone very relaxing not a busy area. Spotty Dog

hiya,we paid £2800 for 2 adults and a 7 year old son flying from Manchester on day flights(out 9-35am)and departing Dalaman 4-35pm.We booked a double room.Thomsons site says it should be £3200 but Portland have it up at £2916.The Thomson shop in town gave it us for £2800 which I thought was pretty good seeing as I paid £2000 to go to Cyprus self catering and spent £1500 on a limited budget this year.My last all inc was Cuba last year and that was fantastic but too long a flight for a whining 7 yr old lol.

I have recently returned from the Belcekiz Beach and have only just found this thread. As I read through, I decided to recommend the BB so I was pleased to see that the original poster has booked to go here. We enjoyed our stay, the food and service were excellent. We prefer to spend our holidays with international guests (horses for courses and all that ) but I think the OP will find what he is looking for at the BB. The kids club there is run by two young British women who are great with the kids.

When we were looking to book this time last year, the Portland price for 2 adults and a 13yo was around £3200. We booked the hotel only through Thomson and booked flights separately and hired a car from the airport for 15 days (as no transfer was provided) and the total only came to £2100 for 3 adults. May be worth anyone else considering the BB to do a DIY as it certainly saves money. We were still able to use the Thomson rep service in the hotel.

You got a fab prce to say it's school hols, they are so expensive in school hols. We priced up this year in august self catering and it was £2100 so you got a fab deal for next year especially with day flights.

I too love cuba but have a whinging 5yr old and a baby eeeeeeeeeeeek!!
