Quite a few hotels now do all inclusive and the best reports are for the Rui Evrika Complex.
I personally wouldn't do AI as both drink and meals are cheap and varied. Best option is to go B&B and I suggest looking at the Grand Hotel Oasis, which is very central in the resort or another getting excellent write ups is the Hotel L&B.

One to avoid is the Sun Palace. We booked all inclusive there and ended up eating out 10 out of 14 nights.

As lynwestie says the Helios would be a good choice and its in a great location.

To be honest I wouldnt go all inclusive again in Bulgaria. There are so many nice restaurants to try. I think B&B is the best choice and the cost of eating out is very reasonable. You will be surprised at how cheap you can eat.

Thanks for all the replies!

Today I sat and went through six pages of the balakan website, reading the reviews on each hotel that came up, I can not believe how bad all the reviews are!

I have managed to gather a list of a few hotels that had good reviews but now my problem is I don't have a clue where they are! We want to be near the main strip, all the restaurants, bars and clubs etc.

After reading reviews I am now more thinking of staying Self Catering or Half Board (or Turkey!)

Can anyone help me? Feel free to say whether you think the hotel is worth going to also!

My List Is:

Sunny day Hotel and Apartments
Trakia Garden Hotel
Fenix Hotel
Grand Hotel and Apartment Oasis
Globus Hotel
Royal Central Hotel
Summer Dreams
Rose Village Apartments
Ivana Palace
Polyusi Hotel
Hotel Korona
Carine Aparthotel

Oh don't really want to be paying for sunbeds round the pool either!

Thanks in advance!

The Globus is probably the most central and its located right at beachfront.

Try this, hope it works.

hi
globus is in the best position i think.
I would go room only on this hotel, the hotel is great but the food is awwfull trust me.
Im trying the Korona this year just b&b as eating out is cheap enough.
Also as others have suggested i would not go all inclusive to bulgaria..

The Grand Hotel Oasis is in the very heart of the resort right opposite the Barcelo Royal Beach Hotel and shopping mall. Beach is virtually one street away, main street about a 5 min walk and you can go B&B there. See some reviews here.

When are you staying in the hotel Korona?

I'm looking to book up for September, prices are cheap enough.

Still haven't decided to go to Sunny Beach or Mamarias in Turkey - never been to either so both places will be an experience!

Just trying to get a list of good hotels at decent prices together at the moment, no matter how hard it may be!

Thanks for the replies :).

Hi

We have just got back from Sunny Beach. We stayed at the Smolyan hotel. It is located at the back of the resort near the bus station. Alot of half built hotels around the hotel but no building work being carried out. I would recommned this for the cleanliness of the rooms and for the maintenance of the building. No entertainment and some of the staff where a bit off. All in all we wanted some where we could sleep that was clean and this certainly was. Breakfast was 5levs, buffet style. Did not eat in the hotel as there are so many different bars and restuarants to try and all cheap.

There are lots of good cheap resturants in Sunny Beach, look for a good b+b deal and go explore..... also the Riu hotels are really good if you really want all inclusive, they are a large Spanish chain and have very good standards and are very popular with the British holiday companies

We stayed in the Riu Helios Palace that lyn mentioned in her post. I'm going back a good few years now, so I can't vouch for standards at present. However, at the time it was a lovely hotel with very good food in an excellent location. I have to say that we weren't keen on Sunny Beach itself and prefered Turkey.

Riu Helios Palace is still very nice, and as you say it`s in a great Location opposite by thebeach....I Sunny Beach has changed a lot in the last few years and whilst isn`t for everyone is still a great value holiday destination, with usually great weather from this time on....average tempratures right now are 30-34c :)

A big thank you for all your replies.

After much searching on the internet I have decided to go to Turkey so I will be asking questions on that page now!

Will use this information as going to go to Sunny Beach next year instead.

Many Thanks!
