Hello di39,

To be honest your options regarding all inclusive hotels are limited to:-

Hotel Venecia Park
Hotel Villamarina
Hotel Oasis Park (this hotels offers a range of board options including AI)

In Cap Salou you have the Hotel Molinos Park and in La Pineda you have the Hotel Estival Park.

There might be a couple more that I'm not aware of though.

Most of the hotels that offer AI in Salou are older units which have fallen on hard times as newer builds have taken their customers away. The Estival Park in La Pineda is without doubt the most upmarket of the bunch and I believe it does have a good entertainment programme and is also next to the Aquapark.

The Molinos Park and Villamarina have in the past received awful reviews although both seem to have improved somewhat this year although reviews are still mixed. Molinos Park is in the quiet Cap Salou area about a 5 minute bus ride from La Pineda and Salou. The Villamarina is in Salou old town but a good 15 minute walk from the beach.

I would rule out the Venecia Park as its fairly quiet hotel, I popped in there for a quick visit in August and it wasn't that busy even then. (Used to be a great hotel, stayed there in 1983 but its gradually gone downhill)

The Oasis Park is a very central hotel and is popular with families, again no luxury but it is clean and is the most central option for the resorts facilities.

Salou is in North-Eastern Spain and therefore the climate is not as reliable as the Costa Blanca and Costa Del Sol although it is better than Costa Brava. Having said that, I've never had bad weather at the end of June as the humidity is still quite low. Salou normally gets rainier in late August as the high humidity sparks of thunderstorms. Late June is probably the best time to go.

I haven't exactly sold it to you but Salou has lots going on for everyone. I'm guessing the shear number of bars with entertainment in and around the resort is the very reason why there are not many all-inclusive options.

Thanks
Mark :cheers

 stopped at hotel mediterraneo last sept 2007 we were half board but most people were all inclusive. it was not a bad hotel food was good and plenty of choice. they have entertainment every night. go out of hotel turn left down slight hill to bottom turn left and its only a couple of mins to all shops and bars, about 5 mins to beach. i do not know the age of kids but you pass a couple of parks and small fun fairs on the way.when we were there it was quite warm,in june it should be a bit warmer. we are thinking of trying again next sept 2009 but there are only two of us to please, kids have flown the nest. have a look on the net at hotel,it is a best hotel group, nothing to lose by looking. hope this may help a little.

regards percy. :tup
