Alykes is a very nice resort. The beach is long and narrow, with quite a few pebbles to get through before you can reach the luxury of clear blue sea to swim. But, watch out for Jellyfish if it has been windy !
Plenty of good restaurants, with our favourite being the Ponderosa.
The bars were good, although prices varied.
A walk to the next village / town, Alykanas took approximately 25 minutes, but things were all about 1 euro more for everything.
I haven`t ben to Alikes for quite a number of years, but if it`s as nice now as when we were there it ll be lovely. We walked along the beach around the bay to Alikanes several times, it was such a lovely walk, especially the times we bumped into elderly locals, who seemed to love the English.
Have almost decided to return to Zante this year (last year we stayed in Tsilivi).
Got info.on Laura's house. Anybody stayed there all info. welcome. We didn't get to visit Alykes last year so info. on the resort, restaurants that people can recommend, car hire, what the beach is like would be really welcome.
Looking into booking flights any ideas - Up to now we have found flights around the £254 - £270 price range.
Thanks in advance.
Irene
