Amendments by travel companies

Booked my holiday to Bulgaria with First Choice for the 23rd June. As I am going to take the train to the airport and back I decided that I needed to take a flight that would coincide with the running of the train times. Yesterday I was informed by First Choice that both my outgoing and incoming flight times have changed. Although the outgoing flight is not a problem the incoming flight will mean that I will now land at the airport at 2.45am. This means that on the way home me and my family will have to stay at the airport another 2-3 hours until the trains start running. The option of choosing another holiday is a major inconvenience. So I am stuck between staying at the airport or choosing another holiday. Are these my only options. Please help.

Hi - are you too far away from the airport to get a cab home? Or are there any mini-bus companies near you which do airport runs? There are a couple I've heard of near me which as I understand it (never used one personally) which take you and other people going to the airport at similar times, therefore cutting down on cost of getting a cab. Or are there any coach/bus services operating? Or can you drive there and park? Or get a hotel for when you arrive? These are the only other options I can see - unfortunately will all cost you more money. Go to Yell.com and tap in airport transfers for your area.

Oh - just thought of another one. Is there any friend or family you can pay/persuade/bribe/beg to come and pick you up or offer an airport run for in return when they go away. Maybe, because this is not a Bulgaria specific question, you could search or ask in the Airport forum on this board There are threads relating to specific airports. You might find oyt about cheap transfer services.

Hi David M. You do not state which airport you are going from. I note you say you come from London. If you are using Gatwick is the Gatwick Express any good to you. First train is 0435 then 0520 then 05. 20. 35. 50 past each hour after 6.00 single fare £14. Journey time 30 mins. Cheers Tonyt

Just to add to what Tony says, if you are in London then might just be cheaper/or a bit more but less hassle getting a cab (depending on where he is). I live on the edge of SE London and for two adults it is £28 on the Gatwick Express plus whatever it costs to get to Victoria. A cab is £35. We'll be taking a cab
