There are no holidays in October. Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday in November (22nd) and rates go up around that time.
The holidays you realy want to miss are the spring breaks, these vary accross the states so google "spring break"
For prices they drop as you get towards Xmas and after NY in Jan then start to rise again.
Aim to get under £1k for the 2 weeks based on an inside cabin. Prices do go under £800 on some weeks.
Start looking for something for this year to get a feel for next years prices.
eg Sea Princess 24oct 14N is currently around £1100pp for an outside cabin
