Wise choice of hotel - the wife and I are back to Anaxos in Aug/Sept this year staying at the Anaxos Hotel. We stayed in Anaxos a few years ago and enjoyed a drink in their bar on most evenings on our way to or from a restaurant (we did not stay there) and vowed to return as a guest.
We enjoy traditional greek cooking and did not have a bad meal in our two weeks there, either in Anaxos, Petra or Molyvos. With one exception. A Greek returnee had brought his American wife with him and they decided to open a Mexican restaurant in Anaxos - the food was dire to say the least and the place was empty most evenings with just the odd table occupied other nights. I can not remember the name, but am sure that it would not have survived the season.
