Hi Suo
you should take a taxi from candolim and get him to either wait or come back for you in the evening, the taxis have no problem with this, or you can just get a taxi there but if you are worried doing it that way then do as i suggest and pay when you get back to candolim for the full round trip.... yes seabreeze has live music it starts late afternoon usually and its a great atmosphere, the entrance to the market is right at the top in anjuna, the opp end to sea breeze, just follow the road/track back through where the market was as many stalls will be gone by then when you leave......
enjoy

The live music in sea breeze starts any time after 2 pm but normally about 3 pm until sunset, Cafe Looda over looks the beach and the music starts about 6pm

Sea breeze is normal one band playing rock music with guests turning up to jam, Cafe Looda has different bands that do half to hour gig

Chilly and Meagain - thanks for the info. I think we will get a taxi out there mid afternoon, at least that way I can remember where we get dropped off by the taxi and just make our way back there when it all ends.

Can I just ask am I right in thinking that I would not walk along the beach to get back out, but inland a bit ? We do have habit of getting lost and going the "long way round" , not a good idea in the dark :duh

Thanks

The taxi's park in the fields just outside the market site that leads through to the beach, so when you come to leave you would follow the track out of the market with the beach behind you or you could get the taxi to drop you or wait at one of the beach shacks like "Janet & Johns" or "Cafe Lilliput" and walk along the beach to the market site but you can't walk along the beach towards Candolim as there is a headland and Baga river to cross

The market stalls start to pack up just before dark and there is a manic coming and going of vans, small lorries; motor bikes and scooters coming and going for an hour or two on the single track lanes

A small touch would be useful

or even a small torch might help :rofl

Meagain is correct you have to head back the way you came... hope you have a great time and why not join us at one of the meets in candolim on a wed night, have a drink and maybe something to eat and find out about other useful stuff ;)

Just a query regarding 'live music', and not related to the Anjuna area....

Anyone know about live music in the Benaulim/Colva area?
I've heard that there is a place called Art Escape.
Do members know if there's any going on there this season, and can give any further details?

Went to Anjuna market today as Carlos Gonzales phoned to say he was playing in Sea breeze from 4 pm, we got there about 3.15 and while it was set up for a band nobody was on stage or any of the musicians that we know were about however come 4 pm some lads got on stage and made some noise as the saying goes, it was ok but very loud however after about an hour they took a break and low and behold Carlos took over on drums, Elvis Lobo turn up with his guitar, Robert from Germany with bass guitar also the lead singer and guitarist who had been on stage stayed on and we had some very good jamming for the next hour or so :tup

When they took a break we went to Cafe Looda on the beach to watch the sun set and a band was setting up on stage, Cliff on guitar, a chap with a strange type of trumpet, Edwin with a weird type of double bass and a German guy on drums also another guy on bongo, then Robert and Elvis also joint the set up and boy did we have some fantastic music and jazz :bow

When they took a break we thought it was a good time to go to the carvery meet however we had not reckoned on the road to and from the car park we had used been be jammed solid for well over an hour, we just sat in the car and baked :yikes in the end we went home and was in bed and sound a sleep by ten, absolutely shattered but what a fantastic time we had

Now awake in the middle of the night thinking why on earth did we not stay for the next set as the traffic would have been gone by then :rofl
