Hi, I've read through almost all of this board and think it's fantastic and thats why I'm hoping someone will help out with a few questions I still have.
We are going to Nessbur on Thursday for a week with a 20 month old.
1. Does the liquid rules still apply i.e. do they still have to be in plastic bags, in bottles/containers and, if I'm travelling with SMA in a carton(s), will they make me open all of the cartons at customs.
2. Can you buy SMA cartons once you get passed customs in the shops (we are travelling from Doncaster so don't know whether the shops there are as big as say in London or Manchester). If so are they heavily marked up.
3. Has anyone been with a toddler before who hasn't paid (children under 2 go free) to an all inclusive? Because effectively you haven't paid for the baby/child to stay there, what are the staff like if you share your food with the child. I.E. Will I have to purchase food seperately for my daughter when I get there.
4. Do any of the apartments offer mini fridges in the apartments / can you hire them seperately as will need to put milk and juice in for her at night?
5. What are the cots like which you can hire there like?
Any other advice about travelling would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Knowing that, it's possible taht someobne who has stayed there will be able to help.
Hi, we're staying at IFA Mare at Nessbur (unless we get moved between now and Thursday??!!)
Yes the liquid rules still apply at airports, you will have to carry sma cartons in a separate plastic bag. Once they can see what they are they will not make you open them, but don't take too many as there may be a limit on liquids. Don't worry they have baby milk over here not sure if its SMA though but there will be an equivalent, or other brands.
All inclusive holidays will not mind at all your toddler eating food. The apartments will have fridges, and am sure the cots will be up to EU standards. I know you must be worried bringing your toddler away but am sure you will have no problems, I came over here when my son was a toddler years ago I couldn't even buy disposable nappies, but believe me times have changed quickly over here, have a good holiday.

specifically states that all rooms have a fridge, so no worries there
I'm sure the cots will be more than adequate, given the EU regulations on children's beds; certainly when our daughter was younger, we had no trouble with cots, and that was some years ago now.

In relation to Airport Security Regulations issued by the Department of Transport on THIS website as indicated by Baldur above, these are what you go by. Anything else is wrong and misleading.
If you look at the website, you will see that baby food is specially provided for -

Baby Food
Liquid baby food or sterilised water, sufficient for the journey, can be taken through airport security. The accompanying adult will be required to verify by tasting.
I also have to smile at this -

I hope so, but Bulgaria has only been in the EU since January 1st 2007, and they have a tendency to ignore inconvenient laws.

Peter - I know, I was basing my assertion on the fact that the hotel is German owned - I have been to Bulgaria enough times to know exactly what you mean
