Lara is completely different from Olu Deniz.

Whereas Oludeniz lays at the bottom of a valley and is surrounded by hills with a stny beach. Lara is a long flat beach several kilometres long. There are mountains in the background but they are a long way off.

The beach is generally sandy or gritty. It is a good swimming beach and the beach does not shelve steeply away like it does in Olu Deniz. ' Good for children or less confident swimmers.

There are three distinct areas of Lara beach. Firstly there is the village of Lara/ Örneköy. A few reataurants and small shops. Then there is Lara beach. A long beach with many small beach cafes and restaurants. At some you can get a full three course meal and at the others simple snacks and drinks. They all serve people on the beach.

The hotels are a long way from this area but you can see them The first hotel you can see is The Titanic construction is taking place further down from this hotel.
If you are on Lara beach you will not see or hear any construction.

Lara is a quite beach resort. For any real life you need to go into Antalya or stay in one of the big hotels.

The weather is similar to Olu Deniz and you will not be in a concrete jungle.

There are more Germans and Russians than English who holiday in this area. You will not find ''all English style catering here as you do in Olu Deniz and the surrounding area.

We have been to Lara beach several times, can't say i've seen many (if any) beach cafes or restaurants..... certainly none that will serve you on the beach!! - not in the area the hotels are situated anyway!!
There is no resort centre in Lara beach and all the entertainment is hotel based. However all these hotels are all 5* ultra all inclusives, and are wonderful. They each have their own strip of private beach. The beach is lovely, soft sand and the sea is also lovely, doesn't shelve too deeply either.
There are plenty of trips to do, so you won't be hotel bound - unless you want to be ,of course.
Transfer time from airport is only 20 mins max.
Each year there are more and more British visiting this area.
We can personally recommend the Titanic, Larespark and Concorde.
I believe the Barut Lara and the Delphin Palace are the two best hotels, judging by the reviews on here and on TA, but I think that any of the hotels are worth a visit!

Lara Beach is completely different to Olu Deniz. LB is a strip of 5*AI hotels and has no real centre and bars/cafes outside of them but you can see the area developing in that regard.

I can reccommend Limak Lara. The Dolmus to Antalya runs along the strip of hotels into town.

Hi
we were there last Xmas and going back this summer Lara Beach is mainly (at the moment) mostly 4 and 5 stat hotels on the beach side and an enormous amount of building of apartments going on on the other side of the road a couple of shopping malls and a few independent shops not a lot there really but things are supposed to be getting better. It didnt matter much to us at Xmas we were in the Delphin we really didnt want to leave the hotel anyway. There are plenty of taxis and buses going to Antalya etc.The beach is lovely and even at xmas we had 22 -23 degrees.
Hope this helps
