Better to take sterling and exchange it for ytl over there ,you will get a better rate that way .There are loads of russians in that area as it is only a couple of hours flight from moscow so they tend to deal quite a bit in the euro and american dollar ,decide what currency you want to use yourself and stick to that ,if you chop and change you will find that you lose money with every transaction. Plenty places to see in the antalya region ,aspendos ,ancient city of perge .Antalya old harbour is also great ,there is a three hundred year old mosque ,down close to the harbour. There are also great trips to the waterfalls where the timotay shampoo advert was made ,cant remember the name of it ,you can walk right through the rock caves under the waterfall ,great to see . plenty of places of interest in that region ,it is also close to alanya,side,belek if you want to see other resorts . You will enjoy it ,good luck. Really big under cover market there if you are bargain hunting.

The waterfalls are called Duden.

There is a museum for Ataturk near to the football stadium and another close to the Falez hotel in Konyaaltı.

From the city centre walking towards Konyaaltı there is a good walk along the cliff top through Ataturk Park. It has plenty of restaurants and tea houses.

There are two beaches. Lara which is sandy and Konyaaltı which is stoney.

A visit to Gulluk on a Sunday is something else to do. It is a street( for shopping) near to the city centre and on a Sunday there are other street vendors and a large street market.

Antalya city centre is full of shops, cafes and restaurants.

When changing money you will get a better rate at the exchanges in the city than from a hotel but always double check how many lira you will actually recieve because some exchanges take commission as well. I think that euros is probably the better currency to take. There are many German and other European visitors to the area.
