Having already replied to the original post and having lived in Antalya for six years and also having stayed at The Sheraton Voyager hotel on two occasions I feel that I can put in my two pence worth.
If the poster had turned left out of The Sheraton they would have found a number of Bars.If they had gone out through the bottom gate of the Garden they have an option of taking the tram to Antalya centre or a further five minutes walk to The Beach Park where the are any number of Bars.Drinks in the Sheraton are expensive. The Beach at Konya alti is pebbles. The Turks are not rude as it's there job to make hay whilst the sun shines and which does not include being rude to people.Reading between the lines I guess that the original poster had a dream of what it would be like and that turned out to be not the case.I am always sorry when I read a post or posts like this as they are written after a person has not enjoyed themselves in what is my adopted city.

I stayed in alanya a couple of years ago and found that I didnt feel as welcome as in other parts of Turkey. Brits are in the minority but this may well suit some people, I knew this before I went and was looking forward to experiencing " The Real Turkey" I didnt like it at all it just didnt have the same feeling as other parts. Our hotel was awful and feel that this didnt help and I did wonder if I would have enjoyed it more if I had been in another hotel but when we said a polite no thankyou to a man who wanted us to eat in his restaurant and he shouted you English ba*****s you kiss George Bushs ar*e I knew I would never return. We returned from Gumbet on 5th June and are off to Altinkum on 28th July so one bad experience has not put me off Turkey one bit. Roll on 28th

:Can not believe what i am reading my wife and i stayed in Belek two years ago and took a dolmus into Antalya where we duly got lost on the way back to our bus pick up point ,we aked three Turkish people in a mixture of english and Turkish .for what stop we needed for Belek .they duly took the time to walk us to the stop they thought was the right one and waited with us and asked each Driver of the busses that pulled up if this was the bus we needed until they found the right one for us then after a lot of thanking and shaking hands with them they went on their way we are going back to Lara Beac in 2 weeks time and definitely will be going into Antalya for a trip again

i think the post the post that mentioned thenumber of all inclusive hotels in the area hit the nail on the head,a lot of turkish resort workers are interested only in the good old para,if you spend and tip you will be treated like royalty, and life long friends in some places,
