I know that you like quality hotels ie Es Port, have you thought about Cambrils, there is a nice hotel the Tryp Port in Cambrils proper part of the Sol/Melia group which I think you would enjoy, perhaps as part of a holiday stop off, too pricey but do have a look on their web page as well as Winter Sunshine holidays for prices. Cambrils is less tacky than Salou but has two parts the beach hotels between Salou and Cambrils and the ones in the village ? town proper. You may not consider it but just a suggestion, we go out of season to the Costa Daurad Sol in Salou and travel out each day. Places in the area where you may enjoy also are Tarragona and Reus. We were ther last Xmas and really enjoyed Reus much more christmassy than Barcelona.

Thanks David. I will take a look at your suggestions - I didn't really think Salou/ Cambrils were really me but will keep my options open!!

At the end of the day we may just decide have the whole time in Alcoceber which is a lovely area.

So many options - can't make a decision!
