In Sa Coma at the moment and it is sooo quiet. All inclusive is killing the resort.
hope you are having a good time. It's a shame that all incusive is killing the resort, we hafd a great time in Sa Coma 2 years ago.
We have recently come back from an all inclusive holiday in Ibiza, it was nice to have all our meals and drinks paid for but by the middle of the holiday we were sick of it, we ended up going out for a drink on an evening 4 nights out of the 7.
I can understand why families prefer to stay all inclusive and don't have to worry about spending money but we would rather stay self catering and choose where we eat and drink.

At the end of the day its only June, the resorts will pick up come school holiday time however I do agree, All inclusive is killing resorts and I for one dont want to stop in one place all the time when on holiday - too boring!

hi, just got back today from alcudia, weathers hot hot hot it was lovley stayed in the CONDESS de alcudia (not condessa as it sometimes get mixed up with) hotel was nice ill post a review at some point went all inclusive so dont have a great idea on prices of things but sunbeds were 9.5 euros for 2 and a brolly on the beach, the beach is lovley and sea was very calm not a wave in sight and sea clear.
I wonder what percentage of the market AI has? When will the Spanish Government do something about it? I feel sorry for all the bar and restaurant owners whose businesses are being crippled by hotels and apartments offering all inclusive.
I'm not for or against AI, you pays your money and takes your choice. However, as I understand it the hotels running AI need a special license from their local council in order to offer that service. So the bar/restaurant owners only need to look to their elected representatives if they have complaints.
Tha's the law, but like most laws in Spain, people pick and choose which laws they like and which one's they don't.
As you say, Hotels need a special licence, but all the Fiesta / Fresh Hotels are offering "Cash only" All inclusive for 15 euros a night, paid by every member of the party and paid up front in Cash. It's taking a lot of spending money out of the resort, and adding to the difficulties that many hard hit bars were already suffering.
The Police should act, but don't.
Hi Goodfellow. Good points. I didn't everything would be as straightforward as Pollensa was saying!? How are you? Hope everything is OK? Are you working?
The Police should act, but don't.
That's a pity, cos I would hate for my favourite bar/restaurant to go under due to illegal AI. In the long term it does nothing for a resort to have a string of AI hotels and not much else. Cancun, Mexico was like that when we visited 10 years ago.
