I'll be going on my own to Goa, although been there before (just not alone), but flying out on Monarch on Thursday 25th .. anyone else going on the same flight perhaps?
I'm planning to stay in Colva area for first 3 days and then see what happens, I have a place to stay whenever I want in Calanguate so after a few days I plan to go there
Also anyone know if there is a Virgin megastore from the Terminal at Gatwick that Monarch flies from?
There's a particular PAYG mobile phone I want called the Virgin Lobster Phone (PDA, TV, Music Player, etc) all in one for £99 in the UK and I seem to remember if you purchase from a Airport store PAYG phones are same at highstreet price - minus VAT?
Also if I did buy this phone would I get hassle at the airport in Goa for duty, etc?
I remember going to Goa a long time ago and the man at the airport first word to me were "What have you brought to sell?"
I thought this was emtremly rude and intimidating of him ... and certainly the kind of behavior that puts me of returning to a lot of places... I'm sure the fact I'm Asian was the reason he targeted me .. certainly not nice to be treated like that ...
I like Goa only things that put me off all seem to be related to the Airport.
Anyway if anyone is in Goa, especially Colva as I'm totally new to that area or has suggestions on what to do and see there - please do reply.
Myself & other half will be flying out on Thurs but on First Choice from Gatwick and are staying in Colva at the Oceanique hotel. It's our first trip to Goa (that's why we booked a package), so sorry can't help you with any info on where to go.
I think there is a Virgin Megastore at Gatwick in the South terminal where Monarch flies from - if you look on the BAA website they show details of all the shops at their airports.
Hope this helps
Have a good time

I guess I'll just take it as it comes on this trip and see what happens.
Doing a bit of preplanning, and few things I really wanna get done like having my fillings done in Mapusa assuming I can find the really good dentist I found 2 years ago, have to dig up his Business Card somewhere
