I have a couple of apartments in a fairly quiet area of Los Cristianos.
There are also quite a lot of rural apartments/villas available allover the island offered by individual owners

It is great for guests to have 100% reassurance that their credit card details are kept safe and that the apartment does actually exist.
There are dozens of tenerife apartments on here to choose from, diiferent sizes and areas and there is also a live booking calendar so you wil not be wasting your time sending enquiries.

I'm probably going to need somewhere next Feb but only for 3 nights - any ideas / thoughts about availability and if private hirers go for this period - I guess most go for the traditional minimum of 1 week rental ?

P.S. My experience recently has been...had difficulties when trying to book apartments for 11 nights, (most owners would rent for either ,only one week ,or wanted us to pay for the full two weeks when we were only staying for 11 nights...understandable...since obviously someone else could come along and want to book for the full week)
but.. when I contacted the above website,had no problems whatsoever booking for the 11 nights.

I have an apt in mind and the owner is a nice guy on the phone, once i pay the depostit i pay the balance nearer the date of travel, how do i do how honest he is lol
( only reason not going back there next time in Tenerife is because friends want to stay at the P.S.3 apartments..we're all going roughly the same time) Normally book Hotel and flights separately DIY.
Loads of people seem to be renting out their apartments these days,so can only say don't worry.
Personally,haven't heard of any one being let down.
Presuming you've got plenty contact details etc.where you can keep in touch with the owner etc...E mail,Telephone and Mobile no.s,address etc...
Once you've paid in full,I'm sure you'll get the keys etc.in plenty of time for your holiday.

P.S.Both of my parties completed and sent booking forms,sent the deposits after availability was confirmed and received signed booking confirmations very soon afterwards,together with copies of the terms and conditions.
We have every intention of keeping in touch regularly with who I booked with.
Happy that you've now had some advice from an owner of properties in Tenerife who has lots of experience
as I said,I had very little.
It's always best to get the entire picture first!!
Understandably,you definitely don't want to be making any HUGE mistakes,or unwittingly get involved with any nasty,manipulative characters, who are only out to benefit themselves and get what they want no matter the problems they cause to others.
Would only be leaving ourselves wide open to all sorts.
Inevitably there's the very odd one who can easily do that.
IMO We should treat others the way we expect to be treated ourselves...well that is! It's not Rocket Science...but hey ho, we're not all the same and you undoubtedly get the very occasional slime ball.
