wow lesley, good choice.
we returned this morning from a week at Forte da oura apartments. It has to be one of the best accomodations we've stayed at.really nice atmosphere, very clean throughout, great staff.
we had a room at the back, think it was a studio, was one of the cheaper options anyway, after reading reviews, I was dreading a room at the back, but the building work is very quiet and only a few builders there finishing off really. If yours is one of the apartments at the side/front..wow! you will get an enormous two sided balcony, sorry dont know what they are like inside.
We managed to get sun loungers by the pool each day and invariably didnt get down till about midday (no dawn towel patrol for us!). The ecomarche supermarket is a 5 minute walk tops. come out of the hotel turn left and left at the corner and about 100 yards.
try the happy house chinese too 8.95 euros for buffet, which was varied and very good.
the hotel has some entertainment on each evening, it wasnt our thing, so unable to comment on it. The hotel is lovely and quiet at night.
have a great holiday.

Hi - thanks for that. Definately now looking forward to it. When I booked the suite it was cheaper than a studio, it said it was a promo offer so just thought I would go for that. It does look that I made a good choice in accommodation :cheers

Hi
We stayed in a junior suite ( 2 adults and 2 kids) in 2004 and it was great. The junior suite has one bedroom but it's open plan, but you can partition it off at night. When you go in to the room the bath room is on the left and a large wardrobe with safe on the right. then you go in to the bedroom area which has A/C. The area after that is a kitchen/living room with a sofa bed. These are divided by a wall with a door access. Then there is a nice balcony over looking the pool. It's a great place to stay really clean and good for the beach, strip and an easy bus ride to the old town. Across the road is the large Clube Praia da Oura which you can use their facilities. Hope you have a good time
