Has anyone tried the Aquarium Restaurant in Gumusluk.
We are off to Turgutreis in May 7 we are looking for somewhere special for the 12th (our wedding ann), lasy year we ate at the White Dolphin in Olu Deniz.
I'm looking for a really special restaurant in the Bodrum peninsular area, & Gumumsluk seems to be the best spot & according to the New York Times (& the restarants own website) this place is pretty special.
I think it seems THE place, has anyone eaten here?
Thanks
Kim
All the restaurants in Gumusluk look good and the setting there is awsome. I have tried Mimosa (the last restaurant in the row) and found it to be one of the best places to eat I have ever tried. Sitting at a table with the sea lapping inches away from our feet, quiet classical music in the background, all candle lit and even the loos are worth mentioning. More expensive than most other places we have been to in Icmeler, Turgutries, Olu, Bodrum etc. But as it's the one we remember, for all the right reasons, worth the price.
we have an apt nr gumusluk, we have been to all the restaraunts, our favourite is bati,s you enter gumusluk and turn right walk all the way along by the beach and you will come to steps at the top is bati,s , it is very popular and you need to be there about 7 pm for any chance of a seat as they have people sitting there waiting for a seat.
Gumsluk sounds fab, I can't wait.
I wanted to say thank you for recommending Gumusluk to me. We had a great meal at the Aquarium restaurant, we would have gone to Bodrum for a special restaurant if not for you suggesting Gumusluk in the first place.
We had a prawn risotto starter for 2, 2 fillet steaks with a few homemade chips, we also shared a salad & the chef took it upon himself to make us a sauce (mushroom & tomato) to go with the steak, I then had a chocolate fondue (they called it a fondue, but it was actually a hot fondue within a very soft chocolate sponge pillow), they teamed this will a plate of strawberries, 3 tiny pots of caster sugar: whipped cream & single cream, husband said he didn't want pudding but they brought him a plate & he wasted no time helping himself to half of mine!!! & two coffees served on a tray loaded with fresh flowers. They provided bread, butter & large bottles of bottled water on all the tables, along with flowers & floating candles.
The bill £30 in our money, minus any alcoholic drinks but including a service charge!!!! A little piece of heaven for a very cheap price. They also tried to give us liquiors on the house, but we hardly drink so we refused them.
The owner of this restaurant will collect & return you up to as far as Bodrum I believe. While we were there he was being filmed for a TV doc on Gumusluk about fish levels & fish restaurants (I think he said, but fish anyway).
Everyone who holidays on the Bodrum penninuslar needs to visit Gumusluk for a meal. We went a little earlier & gave ourselves a hour to visit rabbit island & have a look around the little harbour area.
He has a VW mini bus (like the dolmus) & I think he can carry at least 8.
The website is http://www.aquariumgumusluk.com
& email is info@aquariumgumsluk.com
One of the best meals I've ever had, in a fab location, for half the price of The White Dolphin in Olu Deniz (I will miss that place).
