Not sure about an answer to your problem, but a top tip that works for midgies that is used by a lot of people in Scotland (which I guess would theoretically work on Mossies given they are the same thing) is using Avon 'Skin So Soft' moisturiser. It kills them as soon as they land on you. They don't even get a chance to bite you.

Works a treat if you're bothered by mossie/midgie bites.

thanks the digs ...skin so sft sounds good and have read about it before on HT .....its my lads that get bitten most ...especially at night....thats why I take plug ins for the room and spray the air vents....just dont know how bad they are in july in gran caneria ....not sure how many plug ins and refills to take.....the bands sound better for the boys ....think I will ask local about an avon rep for some cream for me as well

I suffer from mossie reactions too, but here they are few and far between (i think its too dry for them) there are a few little biters around but not many, and im out in the sticks. I wouldn't expect you'll suffer in Taurito. My doors and windows are open all day and night and i havent been chewed on!
