Not loosing sleep over it - we paid less than a new cheap family car so what ever will be will be. - Would be pig sick if we had paid loads for it. Quite happy to give it to our Goan friends if the time ever came- pass on the paperwork whatever so their daughter has a good start in life - she is 10yrs now.
We are in a position where it does not matter but to lots of people it is their savings that could go down the pan along with their dreams of a nice retirement.
Not being flippant - we knew what we were doing before we bought as it was cheaper to buy our place than rent and pay for storage for the monsoon for 5 years. The visa is another rant!!

thatmanhere - when if ever you do - leave a property or car/gift to a goan friend then who will pay the tax that they will have to pay on the sudden "income" that they have received as a gift! Brian.
