Yes there are trips from Skiathos to Athens. These can be done through your rep if you have one or from any of the tour shops in town.
i haven't actually been on one as it seems like a very long day. I think it worked out to be about £90 each for the trip and there may be variations where you could have a night in Athens if you wish.
Maybe we will do it one year!!
