Just to let you know we went to Altas last October. Our kids were 12, 5 and 3. Ive put a review on holidays uncovered and this site as well I think.

It was fantastic. Accomadation was basic but very clean and spacious.

What I must tell you is use the Fiesta Hotel Don Carlos next door. Its a higher grade hotel and Thompson Atlas guests are allowed to use the facilities as well but they dont advertise that fact.
There are a couple of entertainers at the hotel called Wim and Ana who are great with young kids. There is loads to do during the day and a mini disco for them every night.

If you want the quiet life, the atlas has only 16 apartments and there are LOADS of sunbeds. Food and drink shopping for self catering...shops near apartments are well expensive. Walk 10 minutes into Santa Eulalia on the sea front, turn left at the fountain and walk bout 200-300 metres look for supermarket eroskipi near the main road dead cheap sangria!!

Anything else let me know and I will try and answer for you.

Lets put it this way, I've forked out an extra £1200 to go to same place in August this year (13th-27th).

Enjoy your hols, you will book again Im sure.

Hi Simon, read you're reviews in the apartments and it looks great. Now trips, I do not like the organised ones as they are frankly a rip off. We want to do;
The water park
Glass bottomed boat to Formentera
Ibiza Town
Shopping( for the better half)
Fishing or a bit of history for me
Nice restaurants
Anything else you think is fun, the land railway looked good as did the water taxis.

Hi there, 5 days to go! The water park is easy to get to. The buses in santa eulalia run from behind the town hall about every 30 mins to an hour depending on the day. Change at Ibiza town for playa en bossa. We got there as it was opening, by midday it was packed and quite a wait in the queues to get on the rides. Suggest you might want to take a picnic lunch with you, theres loads of picnic benches and a grassed area at the rear of the water park. Their food was expensive and little to choose from.

Glass bottomed boat trips...We went on a good one from Es Cana but didnt get to Formentera. Ibiza town is fantastic for shopping as is Santa Eulalia. Hippy Market was horrible...very very hot and very few bargains, timeshare sellers at the gate watch out for them, they are very persistent.

My son and I did loads of fishing from the rocks at the beach by the Don Carlos Hotel. You'll pull a fish out about every five minutes with the simplest of bait (sweetcorn and stale baguette proved good!).

Restaurants - LA PAELLA just up the road was very good, but we aint fussy!

We are hiring a car this year to get around and see the whole island.

Id hold on about what I said about the Don Carlos, another reiew has just gone on holidays uncovered about not being able to use the facilities I mentioned, Ive rung Thompsons today and they dont know about any changes and Ive also emailed the Don Carlos to find out and they have emailed me back saying cant wait to see you soon!....

Ill find out Saturday anyway! Ill keep you up to date re any changes when I get back.

My family and myself are plannining to stay here in Sept.06. I've read most of the reviews about it and it sounds ok,my only worry is that my Gran will be 81 years old by then and i've read that the coach from the airport drops you off at the Hotel Don Carlos and you have to carry your own luggage to the Atlas Apartments,Can anyone tell me how far you have to walk (she is quite fit for her age).
Also can you get a bus from Santa Eulalia to San Antonio.

Don Carlos to Atlas apartments - twenty metres.

To get to San Antonio you take a bus from the bus station behind the town hall to Ibiza town and then get another bus to San Antonio.

No problem mate, now SimonP who post on here is in Atlas just now, he will post on his return as well. He has written some in depth reviews of the apartments for the review section, which come up 5 Star. The kids are on countdown mode now as it less than two weeks, we booked this in January!

Lucky ol you, few days to go! We had a fantastic time and not much to add except it was too hot to go anywhere! Lots of fun around the pool and on the beach. Places to eat, we stuck to La Paella, Samovar and Mariners but only because it was too hot for my yougest child to travel much further. One family had a really bad experience after visiting 'Mels Place' on the sea front which we then avoided.
I wouldnt venture too far out to sea, jellyfish have arrived in the bay last week but will have probably gone by the time you get there. The locals were great warning me and my kids before we went swimming..
I hope you get a week where it is small families and couples who have booked. Myself and a number of other guests commented on how different the place is at peak season. It was packed and difficult to get a sunbed some days....towel brigade families unfortunately. We will be returning again next year though, but it wont be in July or August.

Cheers Simon, three days to go. Trouble is I've got loads to do at work before I go, normally I like to dawdle through the last couple of days. Did you use travellers cheques or debit cards?.
Hope the jelly fish have gone as swimming in the sea is my big thing, doing it in Scotland affects your ability to have any more children due to the cold water.!!!

Don't suppose anyone has an address/phone number for the Atlas do they?

Does anyone know if the kitchen area of these apartments have a toaster or is it the old fashioned grill.

think its a grill only.

the oven is a bit of a challenge to light too, would recommend taking a lighter stick or similar, rather than relying on matches.
