we have attended many catholic church services in goa,you will have no problem if you want to go to mass.we stay in a small village in north goa and going to mass at the local church is a great experience easter and christmas is wonderfull.
We have been to church several times with our catholic Goan friends and always been made very welcome, we've been more here in the last 10 months than we ever did in the UK(weddings and funerals were the only time) although it's all in Konkani so it's not easy to follow. The Goan ladies don't go out to the pub like us western heathens, so they go to church to socialise
It was the climax of a big elephant festival and we were given a prime viewing point - it was quite humbling. We were worried that we would be imposing and nothing could have been further from the truth.
We asked an official-looking person on the gate if we could enter as we didn't want to go in if we shouldn't have and he couldn't wait to show us in, even got us a welcome drink and explained what was happening! I think that as long as you are respectful and genuine no-one has a problem.
I went to midnight mass in Cavalossim 3 years ago - it was a great experience although couldn't undstand a word cos in Konkani! You can go to English services - I will be in December. Theres a beautiful church in Saliago, I'll go there, maybe in Candolim as well.
