August or September?????

Hi All,

Thinking of going to Cyprus next year for a change. Looked at weather charts and only slight difference in temperature between August and September.

But those are temperatures in black and white! How hot is it really in August - sister want to go about 12th August - Is it unbearable or nice?

Will be stopping outside protaras.

Went to Rhodes ten years ago and it was 42 virtually every day! Unbearable - that was last week July / first week August!

In August there is a high level of humidity which can affect people more than the heat. Temps can get up to 34c. September is still hot, but more comfortable as the humidity is not so bad!

August is 35C or so in Protaras. Nicosia +40C...
September is about the same as August.

Thanks for all the replies!

We now have villa booked from 19th August for two weeks. Has air-con so we can 'escape' the heat if need be.

Owners also say there's a lovely breeze in Protaras which may help.

Really looking forward to it now! Never been and been told it's a beautiful island. Can't wait!!

September, day temps are similar to August but not as high, the difference thankfully it is cooler at night, as it is at the moment, compared to Majorca it is certainly is warmer here, without those September rains I always had there.
