I stayed here last weekend and yes its very hilly, the Ternerife part is no better to be honest. You would be better off swapping altogether too Fanabe or Las Americas area.

Plus I didnt rate the food much either :(

Wow, I'm surprised about the food. We really really loved that hotel. I just found it a pity it was so outside any decent resort!

Regarding walking difficulties, I'm not sure. I do remember that there were ways to get to your room without going along the outdoor paths. It's built going downhill away from reception, so we would go along the corridor and take the lift down to our room. I can't remember if there were ways to go that you could completely avoid stairs every time, but I'm guessing there might be.

You say your husband has a 'health condition' - sorry I was answering the above assuming he is in a wheelchair. If that is not the case I think you will definitely be fine. Even if in a wheelchair, but still able to get out for short moments etc, I still think it might be fine. It really depends how much of a problem a few steps it. I can definitely verify though that it is fairly easy to get down from reception to the pool area via lifts in the hotel block. Maybe other people have used the outdoor paths.

As mentioned in a previous post if your husband has mobility problems you would be better off at vulcano or bitacora hotels as they are on the flat. Torviscas area is nice but still quite steep walkways and slopes to and from beach front. :think

Further to everything I said about the Bahia Principe, this only applies if you do not intend to leave the hotel. You won't be able to just go out for a walk without encountering a lot of steep hills. We actually climbed across a grassy bank to get to the town!

:) I was at this hotel last year and have just booked up again. Great hotel. ALthough it is built on a hill there is perfect access to all floors, bars and resturants via numerous lifts ramps located all over the complex. There were several wheelchair guests and some people with walking difficulties there last year. All you do is go to the nearest lift in what ever part of the hotel you are in and that sorts out the level difference. FOr instance if you are at the lowest level pool near the sea you head to the nearest room block. get the lift to the top floor and walk to the reception area. Vice versa on the way back. Lifts are everywhere. Good luck. :tup
