Tuptim is lovely Judith but only small and in the lower price range , I love the road it is on, it is nearly opposite the Viengtai hotel just behind Khaosan Road, I have been there twice and like the pretty fairy lights outside , the food is very cheap and excellent
Mango Tree, just past Patpong market was where we chose to go for New Years Eve as again, we had loved it the last time. Tongue Thai is a small restaurant with a good reputation. It is in the same area as Harmonique- unfortunately Harmonique was closed for a few days when we were there but we have had some great food there in the past. Its worth getting Nancy Chandlers maps to pinpoint the locations but be aware that she does not put Tongue Thai in the exact location- it is off a side road of the one she has mapped as being on.
Bed Supper Club was the one to go to but we didn't bother as there were 3 seatings and I can't be bothered being hurried over my meal.
Thanks for the info.
I have the Nancy Chandler map though I expect there is a more up to date one now. I remember using it the last time I was in Bangkok staying on Silom Road, and the first couple of times we left the hotel we couldn't find our way around until we worked out that she had put our hotel on the wrong side of the road.
